Newport Pediatric Dentistry: Dr. Faith Drennon DMD
Dr. Drennon and her family would like to introduce baby Mack to the Newport Pediatric Dentistry family. Dr. Drennon and her team provide specialized dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and those with special healthcare needs. Our office is built upon the foundation of creating a dental home by age 1, where we introduce our patients to a "child friendly" environment and conduct a "well baby visit".

We are committed to prevention and education, and strive to make every experience a positive one. Dr. Drennon and her team want you to be educated and informed throughout your experience in our office. We encourage questions and are excited to offer explanations about our philosophy and procedures.
Services
Dr. Faith Drennon grew up in Rome, Georgia. She earned her undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Georgia (2001) and is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry (2006). After five years practicing General Dentistry in a private Pediatric Dental Practice, she found that working with children was her passion.
Our office, as well as the The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "dental home" by the child's first birthday. Although this may seem surprisingly early, the incidence of infant and toddler tooth decay has been rising in recent years.
Fluoride is an element, which has been shown to be beneficial to teeth. However, too little or too much fluoride can be detrimental to the teeth. Little or no fluoride will not strengthen the teeth to help them resist cavities. Excessive fluoride ingestion by children who are unable to spit can lead to dental fluorosis, which is a chalky white to even brown discoloration of the permanent teeth.
A sealant is a clear of white plastic resin material that is applied to the pits and grooves on the back teeth. This is where 80% of all childhood caries (cavities) are found. The sealant acts as a barrier to food, plaque and acid, protecting these decay-prone areas of the teeth. These areas are often difficult to access with a toothbrush.
For years, stainless steel crowns have been, and continue to be, the standard of care for badly decayed primary teeth. Fortunately, with recent advances in ceramics technology many children now have another option! Manufactured in Northern California, EZPEDO crowns were developed by two dentists out of a need to have a healthier, stronger, and more esthetic option for their own children.

To add to their response since I can’t reply to it. It only took the new dentist 30 mins (from the time we checked in till we checked out) to take BOTH of my children clean their teeth and give them sealants if I wasn’t so amazed at how fast the process actually was and that we had no reason to come back for 6 months I wouldn’t have even brought it up to the new dentist. You said you couldn’t give my first child sealants because of cavities that needed to be filled and made 3 appointments to fill them then another for the sealants but then we ended up at a new dentist and I’m glad we

One of the more lucrative dentists I’ve been to and we have seen a lot as a military family. Had high hopes as pediatrician recommended Dr. Drennon. I recommend going over to MA for a fantastic pediatric dentist. Dr. Drennon and her staff were pushy with surgery dor my then 2 year old for molar cavities that could wait with alternative measures. Failed to take X-rays before wanting to perform surgery. Glad I sought second opinion for silver nitrate treatment. Now 2 years later, all cavities have been filled while sitting in dental chair using nitrous oxide. Don’t let a “professional” bully

My son is Autistic. Dr Drennon and her entire staff are the most patient, caring and kind to my son. He is extremely nervous and Dr Drennon takes her time with him and works to what she feels is most comfortable for my son. She even teaches him to have great oral hygiene. Highly recommend this group.

I have 4 children (ages 1-15) that see Dr. Drennon. The office is always clean and we always feel welcomed! As you can imagine I am here quite a bit throughout the year! The staff members and Dr. Drennon are always so kind, knowledgeable and very supportive. We've dealt with extractions for braces, cavity fillings, regular cleanings, and more! I've never felt pressured into anything...I have always received honest opinions and recommendations, but at the same time I always felt supported and understood with how I felt, my concerns and my decisions. I would surely recommend Dr. Drennon and her team
