The night clerk Manny was very helpful. My wife was trying to extend our stay until the shutdown was done, and even though he didn't know how to deal with long stay rates, he made sure to book it for me, and gave me the hotel managers name and when to call so that she could help me get the best price. Great breakfast, wonderful staff, clean, comfortable beds . Definitely 5 🌟

My experience at this hotel was horrible. Manager was very very rude and even invaded our privacy. She threatened to call the police on us for something that had nothing to deal with her or her hotel. Overall my experience here was horrible and I would never stay here again.

I want to thank Miss Joy and her staff for an absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel is fabulously designed. The hospitality was spectacular. I felt safe and learn so much about the town listening to Miss Joy

Hotel staff was extremely rude to my family in town for a funeral. While I'm sure they will claim to have been enforcing hotel policy, they contradicted themselves and did so very rudely. I am the last person to ever play the ethnicity card but they sure made members of my family feel like they were being discriminated against, which admittedly made them extremely upset. If staff had been nicer and calmer in clearly explaining hotel policies about where they could sit, it would have not been confrontational.

Cute and clean! Our customer service was great when we arrived at 11:30 at night and great when we went down for breakfast at 7:30.
The rooms are updated and very clean. The bathrooms are large and supplied with extra towels nice soaps. Shower/ tub was clean. We were very happy to find a nice hotel while passing through NM. The Town itself has a strong oil smell outside but you cannot smell it from inside the hotel:)

We were quite surprised at this hotel. We thought we would be staying in an old established hotel with quaint "character". Not exactly. This hotel is new, modern, clean, the employees are friendly, helpful and efficient. There is a complementary washer and dryer for your convenience. There is also a complementary breakfast and it is not the typical breakfast bar of chain hotels. Love this place.

We got the bum's rush at checkout despite the fact that the hotel was practically empty. We were 10 min late.

The room was nice.

The staff was marginal.-- The breakfast was Lousy !!

$ 100 per is alot to charge for a place that is 1 block from a stinky oil refinery.

Go To The Comfort Inn.

Just checked out of the hotel. We checked in late in the night and it looked like someone had slept in the beds and sheets were soiled. They just made the bed. We couldn't change the room as our little one slept. We complained to the front desk and it looked like they really don't care.

For $130 you would think you would get a king sized bed with chocolate on the pillow! Nope, 2 double beds with no extras. With so many nice hotels in town at a much lower price, I would give one of them a try.

In my opinion this hotel charges rates that some low end Disney Hotels! I could feel justified paying their rates if I could see Disney theming and Magic! But alas... I the Artesia noise and "smell" was stinking a privilege to enjoy!

I felt as though this hotel was charging outrages prices to provide accommodations to local workers and not much of a destination to accommodate the everyday traveler or a local wanting to have a "staycation"

I try to stay here when I come to Artesia. The lobby is a good meeting place and the rooms are clean and modern.

Lighting could be better, and the WiFi can be slow. I would also like it if they partnered for guests points.

STAY AWAY.
The trip did not start well when we first checked in. We received our room cards and they would open the door to the room, however they would not open the security doors next to the parking lot. We had the cards remade and they would open the security doors, however now the cards would not open the door to the room. After another trip to the front desk we received cards that would open the security door and the door to the room.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

The next day we went to the breakfast area. The television was blaring loudly. I noticed they needed to bring out more breakfast

We're out in the Oil fields of New Mexico, not really the hub of tourism, but a place where companies will pay a premium for a hotel room for the oil hands. No idea why, but they will pay, Hotel Artesia is possibly the best option between Carlsbad and Artesia, it is a high end hotel at a competitive price.

I chose it based on the website, photos looked good, was wanting a king. Called for the rates, booked it, ended up with two doubles which were worked out just as well. A high end hotel, right in this really cute downtown. Not saying I'd go to Artesia just to go to Artesia with

Extremely disappointed is the best way to sum up my experience at this hotel. Billed as a "boutique hotel" this is essentially a poor man's version of a boutique establishment.

The rooms were updated (term used loosely) in 2009. Resplendently decorated in an IKEA meets Office Depot motif, the rooms are large, noisy, and underwhelming. I was fortunate enough to have been given a room with a malfunctioning air conditioner and thermostat. To my surprise I was awoken, not by a courtesy wake-up call, but by the aromatic pleasantries of sewer gas backing up into my room.

Luckily, the

A nice hotel even by non-Artesia standards. Much nicer than any of the chain hotels in the area and not much more expensive. Bar in the lobby is convenient but a little overpriced (no beers on tap and bottled imports are $5). Luckily, the wellhead is walking distance.

That being said, the rooms are impressively clean, modern, and updated. Bathrooms are the same. Hotel is right near Main Street in Artesia which is also convenient. Breakfast was good (coffee was excellent).

Just built and sparkling clean in the center of town, I love it. Clean with a slight contemporary similar to many European hotels. Much warmer in person that in the photos, it is downtown with several huge western bronze sculptures in the street and restaurants close by. Flat screen TV, great reading lights in bed. No pool. Great staff. A much nicer place to stay to see Carlsbad Caverns than anything in Carlsbad.
