We are highly trained, experienced therapists who offer focused, solutions-based counseling in three broad categories: Premarital, Couples, and Positive Psychology. We work with those dating, engaged, married, separated, divorced, remarried - or individuals. We work with people from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds, as well as all sexual orientations.

We conduct sessions with one person, a couple, or a whole family, depending on our clients' needs. By virtue of our extensive experience and advanced training, we quickly and effectively help you solve problems and get back on a happy and healthy track as quickly as possible. We offer secure, online, internet counseling for people living in MD, VA, and DC.
Services
We provide premarital counseling services, classes and counseling for all couples to learn how to communicate effectively and to discuss expectations about lifestyle, career, faith, parenting, money, and sex. We also help couples with prenuptial agreements, second marriages, and blended families.

By virtue of our extensive experience and advanced training, we quickly and effectively help couples solve their relationship problems and get back on track to a strong and healthy relationship. We know choosing the right premarital counselor is a difficult and confusing process so contact us today to set up a free 30 minute phone consultation to ask questions and get to know us before you decide.
If you and your fiance are arguing over prenuptial agreements, we can help you sort through your emotions, understand why you're upset, and discuss prenup terms without anger and anxiety. Prenuptial agreements are neither good nor bad, but if you don't handle them well they can create lasting resentment that will weaken your marriage.
We are a group of marriage counselors and family therapists who specialize in helping people have great relationships. We offer couples and marriage counseling for communication, infidelity, sexual problems, and divorce prevention. We provide premarital and prenuptial agreement counseling for couples preparing for marriage.
Marriage and family therapy is effective for a range of relationship, family, and individual concerns. It is a brief, solution-focused, relationship-centered, and goal-oriented approach that seeks to pinpoint problems, solve them, and conclude therapy as soon as goals are met.

The discipline is based on research demonstrating that individuals and their problems are best seen in context, and the most important contexts are couple and family relationships.Trained in both psychotherapy and family systems theory, marriage and family therapists (MFTs) focus on understanding their clients' symptoms, as well as the interaction patterns with partners, families, and friends that may contribute to the problem.

Caring Couples, Happy Lives is a complete waste of your time and money. The therapy we got from Martha at the Mclean office was OK, but the place is run like a corporation. If you miss a session, you have to pay the entire session fee, even in extreme emergencies. They want their money and they don't care how they get it. We had to miss a session because our two year-old son was rushed to the hospital the night before after an asthma attack and spent 12 hours in the NICU. When we realized the next day that we forgot about the session in all the craziness of the night before, we sent an email

What an incredible waste of money, time, and emotion. My spouse and I saw Elizabeth when we were on the brink of separation or divorce at an incredibly stressful and painful time -- infidelity, serious financial deceptions, and dangerous secretive behaviors were at the heart of it. Despite detailing these behaviors and my fears and suspicions of imminent new problems, Elizabeth paid no attention and kept on with her usual, rote, generic approach. SO frustrating. As I warned, financial crisis and more affairs DID happen as I suspected they would, and guess what? We were told to ignore this and focus

It's funny that it took nearly a year and a negative review on Yelp to hear back from Elizabeth S., the owner of this company.

I'm sorry, but it's too little, too late. Your receptionist did indeed take my credit card information and though I called back on three different occasions, I never heard back from you all which is why I came onto Yelp.com and wrote a review.

In the future, I hope it won't take a negative review on a public forum for you all to get back to a customer.

I hope this was a one time offense and that things are much improved with your company since
