We remember when we were children, feeling uncertainty about beginning martial arts. We wondered if we had what it took to succeed and we weren't the most athletic or confident of children - quite the opposite. Little did we know that beginning our martial arts journey would be one of the most profound experiences of our lives!
When we opened our school in 1999, we made a commitment to serving and empowering the community of McMurray by teaching children and adults the confidence, leadership, and fitness skills that can only be achieved through martial arts. Services
The ATA Tiger curriculum program was developed specifically for children ages 4 through 7. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. In addition, the program is designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions.
ATA "Karate Kids" is a specialized program created exclusively for children. The Karate Kids classes are for children ages 7 through 13. The foundation of the Karate Kids curriculum is the education and development of life-skills such as positive mental attitude, high goal setting, perseverance, self-control and confidence.
Our mission is to empower individuals by providing tactical, innovative, and practical self-defense education. With over 30 years combined Martial Arts and Combat Arts experience, our goal is to provide individuals with the confidence to live their daily lives, free from the fear of being unable to act in the event that they are threatened with harm.

My daughter is a tiny tiger (4-7 years old) here and absolutely loves every class. The instructors are extremely helpful, even with students who take a while to warm up and are on the shyer side. My daughter has really grown with the program and is so excited for every class, she has really bonded with the staff and is continually improving. It has made a huge difference in her life and she is more outgoing because of them. They deserve the highest praise, they're wonderful.

Cameron and ATA McMurray, building connections to students, families and the community, are committed to the personal development of each student. Master Stadtfeld and his instructors here do an outstanding job with their students. Before my son began classes here, he was a shy 4-year-old. After 6 months of being in the Tiny Tigers program, I could see the beneficial changes in his personality. He looks forward to these classes which help develop his confidence, focus, and physical abilities. The instructors are great role models and promote a fun, safe and encouraging environment for the kids to learn and stay active. I like that they know how to connect with the kids and reinforce common values associated with most martial arts programs

I cannot say enough about this academy! My daughter transferred over from the Bridgeville academy and absolutely loves ATA McMurray. She has grown so much and is welcomed by each and every student and staff members. Master Stadtfeld has gone above and beyond to help us and our daughter in every way possible! The quality of training is beyond anything we could have imagined. They have everything from traditional martial arts to tactical self defense training, and weapons training to gymnastics and fight choreography...everything a child or adult could want. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this academy to anyone

Our boys have been going to the academy for a few years. They love it and have grown in many ways from their participation in Taekwondo. The instructors have provided a fun and encouraging environment for them to learn and challenge themselves even when something may be difficult. As parents, we hoped mostly that the values of courtesy and respect would be reinforced and become a prominent part of their characters. Requiring students to “answer up” with “yes sir” or “yes ma’am” has definitely become second nature to them. They use these manners when interacting with other teachers

I have 3 children which attend this academy. The family and all the staff are amazing! They are very attentive to everyone individually and as a group. We have been attending for around 6 years and my children have excelled under their direction. They are more than just an academy, they genuinely care and and enjoy working with the students. They make it fun to learn and succeed. I highly recommend them to anyone considering.

I personally have been with ATA McMurray for eleven years. I love the people, the art, and the discipline that comes with this sport. I am now on staff as an instructor and I love every second I get to spend with my students and teaching them. ATA has taught me to become the woman I am today. The students, staff, and parents are all incredible. When I was a student I have to say I had all the help I needed. I am pleased to say that ATA has become my family and I couldn’t imagine myself leaving anytime soon. I love my job along with my students and my fellow staff, thank you for the great experience

My son took lessons there for 4 years, receiving his 2nd degree black belt. He also passed his junior instructor training thanks to the dedication of the staff. The entire staff is very encouraging at all age levels. They made the classes fun while still learning their belt requirements. I also like to see the kids helping each other and giving each other encouragement. Staff wants each and every person there to succeed. My son made good friends during his time there. I know he misses it maybe he'll be able to get back into it after college.
