In 1896, Herbert Lyle "Bert" Warner entered the livery business on Wood Street. Several years later he graduated from the Pittsburgh College of Embalming and Sanitary Science. In 1900, he combined his livery business with his newly opened undertaking establishment. Ever the businessman, in 1901 he entered the furniture business though the purchase of the Benson Furniture Company on Corbet Street.
After his marriage in 1902 to Williamena Parke, he purchased a store building at East Sixth Avenue and Corbet Street, current home to the National City Bank. He then built the building, now occupied by the Valley News Dispatch, where he housed his furniture and undertaking establishment. Finally, in 1915 he found the location that would serve the Warner Furniture and Undertaking establishment for years to come.

Services
George has become a valuable part of the Peters Family Funeral Homes, dedicating his service since 2002. He loves helping and serving the public. This is the most commonly selected service that we offer and includes services of the funeral director, administrative staff, and professional staff for coordinating, personalizing, and directing the funeral service. The funeral home takes care of the preparation and filing of legal documents and other paperwork necessary to complete the arrangements.
For some families, the loss of a pet can be equally or even more challenging than the loss of a human loved one. The Peters-Heilman Pet Loss Center is here to make this difficult time less traumatic by continuing to honor the unwavering love and support your pet gave through a dedicated and humane memorialization.
Monuments, also known as tombstones, markers or head stones, are designed to create a permanent memorial to your loved one. We have ample years of experience designing monuments, and a member of our staff works with each family personally to design a monument that is within cemetery regulations but that also reflects the character and memories of your loved one.
We are diligently working to make our website more informative and user friendly for our community. Until we are able to create access to our online ordering system so you can sit and shop in the comfort of your home, please view some of our vendor's catalogs below and contact the funeral home with any purchase inquiries.
