To better understand our medical model of practice it is important to differentiate between two types of eye care practices: conventional and functional. Our practice is more integrative and we hope that this resonates with you. A reductionist model of medicine in which a strong emphasis is placed on characterizing disorders by diagnosis which usually reflects a collection of symptoms or behaviors rather than the cause of the disorder.
At Belmont Eye Care we accept most major insurance providers. For every appointment we ask for your health insurance and vision insurance information up-front. Please have insurance information ready before making your appointment. Below are the major insurance plans we accept, however many plans are listed under a third party name.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They full on take advantage of you and your insurance. When my contacts that they fitted weren't the correct size they tried to charge me 300 dollars for the follow up for the ones that did fit. Not mention when I went to a new eye care facility I mentioned the type of contacts they prescribed here and they were baffled why they would prescribe such a high end specific contact for someone with regular Vision.

This is one of the best eye doctors around - she is very holistic and her knowledge goes well beyond eyes -she looks at the whole body system and how that might affect the eyes. Her products are high quality and natural and her attention to detail is second to none. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her service to anyone who genuinely cares about their eyes and health.

I had the pleasure of recently coming in for an appointment with Dr. Golie, and might I just say she is the cutest doctor ever! She's so friendly, kind, helpful, and really knows what she's doing. After my appointment we were talking about hypochlorous and how it can really help with I'll kinds of things. It's also super beneficial for your health. With coronavirus still being very much a thing, it's nice to know there's a product that's safe and not harmful to myself or my kids. I can use it for all kinds of disinfecting around the house as well as on the go

During my check up, I wasn't expecting to have my eyes dilated. So they told me to schedule a separate appointment and come back for the test. I scheduled the follow up, received 3 appointment confirmations/reminders. Then I received a voicemail hours before the appointment to see if I could come in earlier. I rushed out of work to arrive on time, only to be told the test wasn't covered unless it was done at the original appointment.

I travel an hour to Dr. Golie because there has been no one else as knowledgeable, diligent or genuine as her. If you have nuisance floaters in your eyes or retinal issues, she has one of the latest retinal technologies in office that you can't find just anywhere. However, it's really not because of her high tech machines that has me sold, it's her down to earth personality, helpful tips and awesome staff that wins this eye doc over.

The doctor was very kind and did find the perfect prescription for my eyes, but from the other reviews I've read, they really do try to push their products. Their products are quality, but highly expensive, and not incredibly necessary. I was very disappointed with the prices of not only the products they were pushing, but also the price of the frames and glasses. I highly recommend getting your pupilary distance and ordering from a site like firmoo. So much more affordable. The other thing that disappointed me was that the doctor told me they could order a training set of contacts to practice

Ever since I came here for a check up, The doctor took in consideration if I wore glasses before, so she won’t give me the wrong prescription. The eye exams are also important, and they take care of that. The assistants also do a really good job in helping finding the right glasses. Good eye care.

The products here are great. My mother suffered from dry eye and came here, now she has found an easy solution to that. I never paid attention to my allergies until she recommended this clinic for my eye exams.. they offer reasonable prices for exams for people like me who don't have insurance which is why I always ignored my dry eye symptoms..so finally I made an appointment, it was super easy! The staff and doctors are very knowledgeable and helpful; after heeding their advice my eyes feel better than they ever have. Additionally, Dr. Golie does a great job of explaining in detail what is happening with your eyes, what measurements are taken and how they reflect real world eye health. I've been a patient for a little under a year and I know more about my eyes now than decades before. Highly recommend.

I hate to give this an "all or nothing" type of rating but honestly I feel this place took advantage of me. My impression of this place is being "all show." I paid literally several hundred (over $500) for treatments that insurance doesn't cover, that, when switching to another center that doctor recommended a $15 over the counter treatment. It seems that the doctor is selling her own products that she produces and doesn't use conventional treatment which would have been nice to know up front rather than being told these are things I have to do to save my eyes.

I had a great experience with Dr. Golie. I hadn't seen an eye doctor since my final post LASIK check up about 3 years ago. After getting a new job with vision benefits I figured it was time to check things out. I had a basic exam and between checking in, completing new patient paperwork, seeing the assistant and the doctor, I was only there for about 45 minutes. I thought Dr. Golie was professional and efficient. I was impressed that she has her own line of eye care products. I attended one appointment after not seeing a eye doctor for many years (given my vision had been great for years). I did wait a while to be seen by her (I was seen immediately by one of her staff members) and unfortunately I wish the commute to her office was shorter/easier for me. I will say Dr. Golie was very thorough in her eye exam. Also, it's evident she cares not only about the health of your eyes, but also your overall health. Echoing previous reviews, I had the unfortunate experience of realizing that this place is a full-on naturopathic/alternative health supplement pill pusher. I went there for an eye abrasion above my cornea, which I realize now isn't the worst thing to happen, but still requires professional treatment. If you don't want to read my full review which is a bit lengthy, the short version is that I think they used the distress of my injury and fear of vision loss to try to get me to buy their own brand of supplements, which aren't scientifically indicated to treat any eye problems. You can feel how much the doctors love what they do and how passionate they are to educate their patients. The supplements recommended to me really made a difference in my dry eye disease vs the cheaper Nature Made I got from Walgreens. I also learned about toxic products to avoid to not worsen my dry eyes. The exams are thorough and the wait can be long during times they have emergency patients. I had my exam during a time there was a medical ophthalmology resident rotating through and apparently the teaching screens they have are for patient and doctor education. The doctors at this practice are thorough, nurturing, knowledgeable, & open to holistic and alternative remedies for anything from dry to computer vision syndrome to glaucoma. When you wait an hour and a half for your appointment and the eye doctor starts by rattling off supplements you can take that are sitting in a glass case right behind her, and also recommends an organic makeup you should try that the facility gets a kick back from recommending, definitely a bad start and an equally bad end. I'm lucky I got out of there spending the least amount possible. Don't waste your time or money.

I came to see Dr. Golie as a new patient in January 2015. My eyes were feeling dry and irritated. I had a very mild eyeglass prescription for astigmatism for the past few years and wore my glasses when working at my computer for extended periods of time.

I have a host of issues with my eyes - astigmatism, far-sightedness, nystagmus, thinning retinas, and more. This means that eye exams are stressful for me, as I don't always perform well on the tests, and am worried about the various issues I have. This visit blew away all of those fears and nerves and replaced them with a strong sense of comfort and understanding. My appointment in all took ~1.5 hours, which is actually less time than it usually takes for me. I was able to finish my paperwork immediately

I have been a customer of Belmont Eye Care for almost four years. I had some terrible dryness and infection the first time I went in. The doctor saw me and helped me get better since the first couple of days after my visit.
They have cutting edge technology, easy parking, and even free coffee.
The only reason I am giving this place a four stars review is because their customer service went from great to OK. Rene is one of the senior employees and has always been amazing. He is friendly and knowledgeable. But they hired new personnel who are not as good as he is. I believe they may continue receiving

I couldn't believe an eye clinic could have so many positive reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Really like this place! Just 2 blocks from where I live, everyone here and was helpful and friendly.

I went to Belmont Eye Care due to this provider being covered under my insurance. I found the whole a experience a little bit arduous. First, when I scheduled the appointment the receptionist was not very attentive. I had to ask a few times, in many different ways when an appointment was available within the week.
