Although I grew up in the North Country of NY (Gouverneur) up until graduation from H.S. I paid very little attention to the history of this region. Now that I am older, I truly appreciate the history that owners Donna and Jim have captured in this former schoolhouse Bed-n-Breakfast. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfasts were outstanding, and the attention to detail in every area was amazing. You immediately could tell that your hostess/host Donna and Jim love what they are doing and care very much about making each and every guest feel right at home.

Donna and Jim are amazing hosts. The rooms are beautiful and clean. It is a great place for the whole family. Jim gave me a tour and the history lesson was on point. The breakfast both mornings were delicious. I’m looking forward to going back to stay again. Thank you again for your hospitality.

I have traveled much and this by far is my favorite b&b. So unique, clean and beautifully decorated. The rooms are huge, beds super comfy, and all the rooms are uniquely appointed. Lots of history to be found in rooms, parlor, library… Donna and Jim were so lovely and I really enjoyed our talks. I learned loads of history which was an added bonus. The breakfasts are homemade and delicious. Even my sixteen year old was impressed. Happy to have found this great inn as I will be visiting a lot with another son in college in Potsdam.

Recently, my wife and I stayed at the Sherman Inn and without a doubt; it was an extremely satisfying experience in every way. Our room was spacious and clean, the location ideal and the owners, Donna and Jim were always available and willing to answer questions or provide assistance. At the risk of not being able to make a reservation next year, when we plan to revisit Ogdensburg, we highly recommend the Sherman. Barb and Dan Capella

We enjoyed a very warm welcome and a comfortable and quiet stay in the beautiful, historic property. The rooms are extremely spacious, clean, and filled with comfortable furniture. Donna and Jim are the consummate hosts, sharing knowledge about the history of the region and the Inn itself while making you feel right at home in Ogdensburg. Easy travel to the Thousand Islands region and village of Alexandria Bay on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Don't forget to stay for a delicious breakfast before heading off to your next destination.
