Since 1954, Whitesell Pharmacy has operated as an independent pharmacy in Frederick, Maryland with a focus on serving the community and providing equal access for all people. Services
Whitesell's is a full service pharmacy offering doctor prescribed medications as well as over-the-counter items. We accept insurance, deliver for free in the Frederick area and have an in-house loyalty program for savings on prescription costs. In addition, Whitesell's is very proud to source specialty medications and rare drugs for those patients with unique pharmacy needs.
Whitesell Home Medical Supply has a new location up the street from the pharmacy at 622 N Market St. We are a Medicare approved durable medical equipment provider and we have direct contracts with commercial insurances as well. Each insurance and patient case is unique and our expert staff work closely with patients to minimize their out of pockets costs; for most items, we offer free local delivery.
Whitesell Pharmacy is very proud to support breast feeding mothers with our breast pump services. With the help of doctors and insurance carriers, our goal is to get new mothers the equipment they need to comfortably breast feed their babies as long as possible without paying the high costs of retail breast pumps.

We met with Megan about lift chairs. We had looked at other places. Megan was the most knowledgeable and wonderful person to work with. She wasn’t a high pressured sales person but showed us the various options. She did give us her opinion on what chair she thought would be the best for me and why she thought that way, I highly recommend you talking with her if you are looking for a lift chair.

I could not be more thankful that I found this pharmacy. I was having a nightmare of a time consistently getting my prescriptions filled in a timely manner at the big chains. I would end up driving from one pharmacy to another trying to get them filled. Then I contacted Whitesell's. They told me if I transfer all of my prescriptions to them that they would have my back - and they have!!! They may not have a drive thru but they are more than worth having to park and go in. I've never had trouble finding parking out front. Thank you Whitesell's Pharmacy for making me feel like a valued customer rather

They are the only compounding place around so if you have a sick infant that needs meds you will likely be forced to use them and they know it. They will hold it over your head, make up odd rules and change them without a moments notice. The first time we ran out of meds we called and they told us it would take several days for them to make. They asked us to give more notice in the future. Seems reasonable so the next time we called we called about a week ahead. This was still tough for them but kinda worked. Eventually, when they couldn’t get stuff done in a week we started giving them 2 weeks

Prior to my discovery of Whitesells, every month was quite stressful thanks to meds needing ordered or a pharmacist disagreeing with my doctors orders. Then I found out about Whitesells and my monthly refills now make me smile. No more "we need to order this" or standing in long lines. This pharmacy is a breath of fresh air. I'm quite thankful that I discovered them.

Been going here for about 7 years now. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Need an example? One time there was an insurance hangup near closing time, and my phone call to the insurance company lasted until about 10 minutes after the close time. The whole time I was on the phone, I was watching the time, but the Whitesell staff was very understanding and told me not to worry if the call went until after closing time. Highly recommended!

Out of the pharmacies I've been to over the years, Whitesell,s Pharmacy is number one on my list. The pharmacists and the staff are always kind, and it never takes more than 20 minutes to have the medication filled. They are, by far, the best pharmacy n Frederick,MD. What really sets them apart as special in their field is that when needed, they deliver as well free of charge. I am not sure if the delivery is always free, but within the cities limits it is. Anyone looking for a great pharmacy that happily meet your needs in whatever capacity needed should definitely give them a try!!!

These guys know they're the only game in town and act accordingly. I was told my prescription would be ready the next day after I dropped it off. I drove out in the rain and fought for a parking spot to find that there was an issue with the directions of the prescription and they needed clarification from my doctor. They didn't feel the need to call me to let me know that it wasn't ready. Instead, I was blamed for making the trip and told that they would call me with the price before they make it as my insurance might not cover it. The woman working there told me she was sorry whilst smiling. Thanks

One of the few non-chain pharmacies left. The customer service is above & beyond what you'll get in any other chain pharmacy. They're always friendly & courteous & have enough staff on hand so that you don't have to wait in long lines. They also do specialized Rx compounding & provide medical equipment. It's extremely convenient to have all these services in one location. Great pharmacy!

Had a great chat with a lady by phone. Asking about a drug that may or may not be on the shelf. I stated that I contact 2 other pharmacies. Both stated the same not available but if you bring the script in we'll have it ordered in a few days.
I called Whitesell for I would like to switch to this med now for my daughter.
Response was classic.
We don't give out controlled substance information.
You can't say if you have it or not?
You'll need to show reason for it. Script insurance card & driver's license.
As if I am going to waste a drive of 20 miles to the practice get said script. Drive
