Services
Hillsman-Hix Funeral goes back to 1960 when it was founded by William E. Hillsman, a long time native of Amelia County. We purchased the funeral home from its previous owner John Royall in 1986. In addition, we are honored with confidence the people of this county have extended to us. We intend to maintain that trust they have given to us.
At Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home and Cremation Service, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. In addition to the services we offer, you will receive an online memorial that you can share with family and friends.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
Our staff is comprised of dedicated and licensed professionals with the experience to answer all your questions regarding our services. Please feel free to contact any of our staff members at any time. Jim has been a licensed funeral director since 1974. He is a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and is a graduate of the American Academy of Funeral Service.

I was very pleased with our experience here under such sad circumstances. Mr. Hix was very pleasant, and he was very thorough in helping us plan the arrangements for my Mama's funeral. The casket spray arranged by Mrs. Hix was absolutely beautiful. Mama also looked so nice after being so ill during her last months. I'm so glad we chose Hillsman-Hix because they made a difficult time much easier to get through. Highly recommended.
