El Camino Preschool has been serving north county children for over 30 years! Our family owned and operated preschool is located on 3/4 acres of country landscape in the quiet Fire Mountain neighborhood of Oceanside. Children ages 2 to 6 years old attend our preschool and we provide before and after school programs.

I always dreamed of having my own preschool. I started my teaching career by becoming Montessori trained. After my first daughter Kristi was born I went back to college and took every Early childhood class available! 52 Early Childhood units and a degree in Early Childhood later I felt confident to take care of my daughter and also teach preschool.
We are 30 years young and over that period of time the majority of our enrollments have come from referrals made by our wonderful families. Here are some of the great things that they have shared. Quality preschools like El Camino help children find answers through exploration, experimentation, and conversation.
The best way to see why we have been highly recommended by parents for more then 30 years is to make an appointment that's convenient for you and visit our center with your child. You can talk to Heike, our owner and director, meet the teachers, and observe our programs. Warning! - Visiting children often fall in love with us and are not ready to leave at the end of the tour.

Children at this age have endless energy and unlimited curiosity. Our Young Preschool program is designed to allow children opportunities for exploration, physical movement, and begin the development of self-help skills. We challenge children with developmental appropriate activities through learning centers and circle time.

I had nothing but a wonderful experience at El Camino Preschool! Mrs. Tupu is incredible, her heart is truly all for the kids!!! Heike, the owner is on top of everything, although busy she is available anytime. My only reason for 4 stars is because I feel like the PreK curriculum could have been stronger, maybe it was my child, maybe not. The preschool is one of a kind, very organic play and my heart was happy knowing my daughter was happy here!!! I also appreciated that they didn’t ask a lot of parents to help out or donate items for holiday festivities. My son will be starting here this summer

All three of our boys attended El Camino Preschool and this place is absolutely THE BEST! Taking my son here feels like taking him to a family - member's house. I couldn't be happier. It feels good to be able to go to work and not wonder if he's having a good time.
The teachers there are genuinely caring and I've seen my son's development blossom with the style of programming they use that incorporates both learning and letting kids be kids at the same time.
Highly recommend!

Both of my sons went to El Camino Preschool, and we had a great experience. The teachers are wonderful, attentive and clearly care about the children and their welfare. They teach a lot of independence, and respect of their peers. At the pre-school age, social maturity and independence is much more important than academics (in my opinion), so it's great that they stress those aspects of learning.
We loved the atmosphere...homey, warm layout of the building, and the spacious play areas.
The Pre-K class with Ms. Sharon is the class that both of my kids attended where they "took off" in their growth
