Dr. Cynthia Ward is a Central Florida native and graduate of the University of Central Florida and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She is the founder of Lake Nona Eyecare, and was the first optometrist to establish a practice in the Lake Nona area. Dr. Ward has 11 years of experience as an optometrist; she strives to ensure that every patient sees the difference that a personal touch can add to each and every visit.
Your annual visit to Lake Nona Eye Care will greatly increase the chance of finding subtle changes that may affect your vision as well as your overall health. At Lake Nona Eye Care, we provide comprehensive, primary eye care for the entire family (starting at age 5). Routine and preventative eye exams are essential for maintaining good eye health.
Eye glasses have become high fashion accessories, yet at the same time correct specific visual needs. Our Optical boutique has a large selection of frames in today's popular brands and styles. We offer the latest in lens technology and use only high quality optical products. Our highly trained staff will design your eyeglass lenses to fit your individual lifestyle and visual needs.
We offer the optomap Retinal Exam as an integral part of our comprehensive eye health evaluations. The optomap Retinal Exam produces a digital image and provides us with a wide view of approximately 82% of your retina, helping us evaluate your visual heath. Many eye problems develop without warning signs or symptoms.
According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. They should receive additional eye exams at 3 years of age, and just before they enter kindergarten or the first grade at about age 5 or 6. Dr. Ward sees children starting at age 5.

Only reason this is two stars and not one is because the dr was great other than the lack of communication. Went in for an annual eye exam, mentioned “MAYBE” getting contacts but I wasn’t sure because I have an astigmatism and wasn’t sure if I was going to like them. Me NOT being an optometrist, didn’t know what a contact exam was or if it was something different than any normal “look into things” exams. The dr said I could “try these for a couple weeks to see if it was something I wanted to do” got to the front desk and proceeded to tell me that it was $115.00!!! I said “it

After having multiple horrible customer service experiences at another local Optometrist,
I found Lake Nona eye care. I called to make an appointment and they were able to schedule me within the next week.

If you are in need of an Optometrist this is the place to go! My family and I have been going here for at least 3 years. This office staff and especially Dr. Cynthia Ward are always the most kind, caring, and helpful out of ANY other office I have ever been too.

Less than mediocre office, wont be coming back. The Optometrist is very cold & only does the bare minimum for an exam, didn't ask me a single question to get to know me or any issues I was having. The assistant/receptionist was just as cold, I've never felt any less wanted in a doctors office. The frame selection is terrible, and insanely overpriced. Don't come here if you do not intend on buying frames from their office, they will not give you your PD unless you purchase something from them, and apparently an eye exam doesn't count. Dr Leticia helped fixed my glasses after a low cost provider got my first pair of mid-life bifocals/progressives wrong. The staff (Eileen+) was so friendly, patient, helpful, and they speak Spanish. They also helped me many months later when my frames needed repair. They are an excellent example of how small businesses blow away big retailers with extaordinary personal attention.

Great Optometrist! Great Staff! True definition of teamwork. Every test was fully explained prior to being performed. Dr. Ward was extremely friendly and was patient and understanding answering all my questions. Office was exceptionally clean and all the sample glasses were classic or stylish. Office staff was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this office!!!

I wouldn't come here or recommend this place to anyone. Average exam by the optometrist, she was friendly but didn't notice an issue I had which had been appointed out to me by couple other optometrists in the past. Worst customer service by the staff. Felt like I had to track them down to get my items.

I called and spoke to Elizabeth about a question I had regarding my glasses. She was extremely nice and professional. When I went to the office later in the afternoon, she remembered me, was very patient and sweet with my two toddlers, and quickly helped me. She was knowledgeable, cheerful, and definitely made an impression on me. Thank you for the great service! I will be back!

I purchased some prescription lenses for my sunglasses here. The glasses were delayed about three times and no courtesy call. Instead I had to call over and over to say they forgot. When I finally received my sunglasses they gave me the sunglasses with no cover. It's an eye glass store they should atleast have courtesy eye glass covers especially after the inconvenience. They charge you to show you how to put on your contacts.This is a hilarious fee. When you buy contacts there don't expect a courtesy bottle of solution not at this place. Not what you expect from the beautiful lake Nona

This small optometry shop is conveniently located in the large strip mall just off of the 417 Narcoossee exit.
This optical boutique has a medium sized selection of fashionable frames with some brand names thrown in the mix. Although they didn't have any that I really liked for me, my boyfriend found a pair that looked marvelous on him. Glasses fitting was done quickly and delivery was within a reasonable amount of time for that type of frame.
The staff is very gracious and did offer to give him his prescription to take to another store if he didn't find a style he liked.
