Services
At Northern Manhattan Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, we are constantly striving towards meeting the total needs of each person who comes to us, spiritually, physically and emotionally. We provide quality and compassionate care to all those in need and work towards meeting the changing health care priorities of the community through the development of specialized programs, services and facilities.
The staff at Northern Manhattan Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is well-trained and deeply committed to working with both the residents and their families to meet the challenges of both long-term and short-term rehabilitation. Our interdisciplinary team of professionals work together with staff to deliver an individualized plan of care for each of our residents.
Our modern rehabilitation department provides residents with up to date equipment and services. Members of the rehabilitation team consists of a physiatrist, physical therapist, occupational therapists and speech therapist. The physiatrist (physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation) is the team leader.
The Northern Manhattan Rehabilitation and Nursing Rehab team provides comprehensive and dynamic rehabilitative services for adult patients with musculoskeletal problems resulting from arthritis of the shoulders, hips, knees and spine. Northern Manhattan Rehabilitation and Nursing also specializes in rehabilitative services for individuals who have undergone total joint replacement surgery.
At Northern Manhattan, we take pride in the professionalism and excellence of our staff. This facility is horrible. The lack of communication is unbelievable. The only time that I received thorough updates/ Phone calls from doctors, nurses and social workers pertaining to Dr. Appts and follow-ups is when I threatened to take him out of the facility. Because they can' t get their act together my Stepfather misses necessary outside appointments. They constantly tell me that he does occupational and physical therapy 5 times a week. They tell me that someone reads to him, and that he listens to music. In front of Staff, on a call, I'asked him if any of this takes place, and he adamantly

If you truly love your loved one DO NOT send them here!!! This place is very unorganized, no one move with urgency! Here are a few instances of neglect….They lost my mothers clothing 3 times while in here! She was left in soiled clothing over the weekend!!! They misplaced her medication and gave her something else for the day. They tried to keep her there longer than she needed to, not because they wanted to work with her, but because they wanted to max out her insurance!! THANK GOD my mother made it out of there because the amount of neglect is terrible!!! I strongly believe we have a lawsuit

My sister has been here for almost three months,i go there,oh we have to check you for covid,fine 2nd time ive been there,she doesnt speak,i even gave her a tracfone,she might lose HER APARTMENT CAUSE SHES STUCK HERE,I GET NO ANSWERS,I CONTACTED BEN KALLOS S OFFICE ABOUT THIS,IM TRYING TO GET HER KEYS,SO I CAN RETRIEVE A COMPUTER,AND A GUITAR,I DISGUSTED WITH THIS PLACE,VERY SHADY

The Northern Manhattan Rehab and Nursing Center is a truly wonderful caring facility. My husband has critical health issues that need a caring staff. Having a doctor on site was vital when my husband’s health became a survival issue. The quick attention to his health issue, saved his life. Since I live over three hours, away, I need a facility that anticipates issues so that they do not become life threatening for him. The Director is available 24/7. He is there to make orientation for my husband easy. I am impressed and truly give the whole facility not five but six stars!

Very satisfied. C.N.A who cared for for me were compassionate and professional. Very good team work among the staff.
Very clean environment. My dietary needs were satisfied. Recreation is great. I was carefully guarded and protected due to my limited mobility in the Rehabilitation
The Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist were great and and took care of my needs which enabled me too get stronger and and increase my Mobility.

This communication at this facility is below satisfactory. My client was sent there and the treatment he is receiving is poor. He has not been able to sleep due to fear of falling out of the bed and he requested a bed rail. He was told by different nurses that they would install a bed rail on MULTIPLE occasions. When I called to talk to someone who could address the concern I was transferred to a voicemail. I called back at another time and was transferred to a Ms. Greg (?) who had an attitude upon answering the phone. When I asked for her name so that I could document that I spoke with someone

Northern Manhattan is amazing! Staff is kind and respectful. I don’t see Northern Manhattan as a corporation but rather a family. The quality care is second to none and I am so happy I chose Northern! If I was able to increase the stars on google I would! They are a huge staple of the community and they are Absolutely genuine! From Nursing, Administration, Social Services, Recreation, Housekeeping, and Maintence the Northern team are always looking to make a difference to make patients feel welcome, safe and happy!

No communication , it is hard to get needed help from social workers. Most of the aides have bad attitudes where as a patient you feel uncomfortable to ask for help. The workers repeatedly tell you they are “short staffed”. And the dietician on site is not knowledgeable and verse on making well rounded nutritious meals; for those there for Rehabilitation. I was there as a patient so I’m speaking from first hand experience. I do not recommend this facility especially if you have a loved one whom can’t advocate for themselves because they will be taken advantage of! Please see my attached
