I cannot say enough great things about Water4Dogs. The staff are so knowledgeable, friendly, supportive & understanding. They have made a HUGE difference in my dog, Cricket’s, abilities, independence & confidence after her spinal surgery. While my dog is now a little old lady, she has regained her puppy personality after working with them. Her energy is higher & she actually wants to play again. I truly believe the therapy Cricket is getting with Water4Dogs is prolonging her life. Thank you!!

I took my puppy at this place for the first time and the staff was very welcoming. My pup doesn’t really get along with strangers since I got him during COVID-19 and couldn’t work on socializing him much but seeing him playing with the staff I knew we came to the right place..even though he snapped once during his evaluation which was very embarrassing for me but they were very professional at handling the situation. I highly recommend this place 10/10.

What can I say,.. this place is the BEST..
My dog had an injury ; The Vet recommended physical therapy.. One was way closer to my home ; but gives preference to their own patients. So I trudged downtown.. Worth the trip.
The Physical Therapists are very skilled.. the facility is immaculate. Appointments are scheduled properly so there is no waiting..
The Staff.. what words of praise for the staff? They are caring and lovely.. I got caught in a torrential downpour. One of the employees put my soaking wet socks in the dryer..
I just wish it was a big more geographically desirable. Even so.. IF

What an amazing place that really cares about your dogs recovery. JOHN from @K9swimmer is the most in touch therapist. Henry did so great with everyone and they all care! Hard to get to but worth it. -Also be sure to check in with them prior to your appointment because several times their water treadmill was broken.

Thank you to the team at Water4Dogs in helping our LuLu (Westie) recover from her ACL injury. John, Billy, Jade, Alana, and all: thank you for your love, patience and kindness in helping all the injured dogs (and some cats) in building up their muscles with the therapy sessions so that they could continue to live a happy life with their families.

I would have given this place five stars because it has helped our dog immensely. However, the demotion was for one particular employee there.
Our 12-year-old lab mix has been going to this place for a while and we spend a lot of money there, as well as recommend it to the many people we know in the NYC animal care community. It has been very helpful for our dog to have his sessions with John, whom we purposely schedule with every week. John is absolutely amazing: my anxious dog loves him and he deserves the utmost credit and respect given his dedication, ability and passion for the dogs. He

Simply put this has been the best place to go to for my senior dog. They work wonders both on hydro, dry, laser and acupuncture therapy.
I highly recommend this facility. John @k9swimmer on instagram, has been fantastic with my dog. The staff is always on top of making his visit a comfortable one.
My dog probably wouldnt be walking today without their work. Go there if your dog needs physical therapy. It will be mental therapy for you!

The vet techs here are incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate and skilled. This is an amazing place to rehabilitate a dog.
I brought my 5 year old dachshund puppy here for physical therapy after a minor back injury. The veterinarian made a detailed plan which we worked through for 10 weeks. His improvement was so great that I continued to bring him for preventative treatment weekly for another year.
Dachshunds have very weak spines, so I was worried about disk disease. The staff at Water4dogs worked to make my puppy very very strong and he has no relapses and now experiences zero pain on

Although I've been a Yelp user for many years, I have never felt compelled (in either direction) to write a review and publicize my thoughts about a service or business. However, after taking my dog, Dillon (aka the love of my life), to Water4Dogs for the last 4 weeks, this has changed. About 6 weeks ago, my housekeeper dropped my couch on Dillon, fracturing his pelvis in multiple places. Dillon could not walk or use his hind legs. Needless to say, I felt heartbroken and lost.... until I brought him to Water4Dogs.

My dog had his first supervised swim here. It was amazing! While the pool isn't huge, it's big enough that he got a great workout. The water is kept at around 90 degrees so that their muscles don't freeze up. They have toys and swim vests, and a hose you can spray them down with afterwards so that they can get the chlorinated water out of their fur.
The staff and trainer were so friendly and knowledgeable. They are located in a nondescript building on the 2nd floor. The facilities are clean and they have large holding pens for the dogs if you don't have time to stay with them

We brought our senior citizen poodle here for therapy after she was diagnosed with a collapsed disk in her neck/back and could barely walk. This place is amazing. A year later, our dog is 3 lbs lighter and walking/running like a champ. I did prefer some therapists over others and felt she received more thorough physical therapy sessions with them. This place isn't cheap, but it's a canine water rehabilitation center in NYC, so you wouldn't expect it to be! Dr. Block is great and we're thrilled with the progress our senior dog made here.

I recently brought my baby Knox here (a 19 week old Shichon) for his first swim lesson and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. John his instructor was very knowledgeable with accessing my puppy's skill level, he made him feel comfortable enough to eventually swim on his own. It was more than a learning experience; it was fun! I am so happy we found this place , Already booked our next lesson:)) thanks Water for Dogs

If you bring your dog to Water 4 Dogs you can expect skilled, caring and utterly responsible care. My 15 year old dog could barely walk (lameness and arthritis) and now 10 sessions later she's jumping off the couch, walking on all fours and overall much happier (because she is not in pain). With laser, massage water treadmill she is remarkably better. Their caring is demonstrated in attention, understanding and working with owners to learn ways of helping your pet at home.
Her improvement could not have happened without them. I cannot thank them enough and I recommend them to my friends.

My first appointment was made with one of the staff for consult with the vet and
hydrotherapy. We were told that we did not have an appointment until the
following week. We were called and the appointment had been confirmed.
After seeing this place I would never take my dog here. It is revolting. The
pool is a big bathtub. No large dog could swim in it. It is a dark dingy place
with staff that were standing around joking with each other.

My dog is still undergoing therapy here, after having back surgery.
I definitely feel that the staff here genuinely cares for its patients and wants to see them improve. And I HAVE seen my dog improve, as a result of the water therapies (underwater treadmill and assisted swimming in pool). She's not recovered yet...but her progress is giving me hope.
Also, they are on time for their appointments (I've never been kept waiting) and responsive to emails re: billing, which I needed to submit for insurance reimbursement.
So overall, positive experiences with everyone there!

After pain meds (Tramadol and Zeel), Trixsyn, chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture had no effect on my dog's limping, I brought my then 9 year old Rottweiler here and after 5 sessions, he started walking normal again. The staff truly love dogs so know that your pup is in good hands. They, also, go out of their way to fit your dog on their calendar if there's a scheduling conflict.
Even if my dogs were not suffering from arthritis, I would still bring them here at least monthly. Swimming is an excellent form of (low impact) exercise as it strengthens muscles, keeps a dog limber

If it weren't for Dr. Block, John, Jennifer and Eleni, my dog probably would not be able to walk. A few weeks after his emergency spine surgery, we got him on the water treadmill. The water started rising. He was shaking, as was I. Yet, with a loving touch and plenty of delicious incentives to move him forward, my little pooch was starting to use his back legs again! A few weeks later, we both got in the pool with John. Two months post surgery and now my 4-legged friend is starting to run! He may always have stiff hind legs and some spine issues, but he is essentially a normally functioning

We adopted our dog from their shepherd rescue and he's the best dog we could ask for! He also loves to swim, so we come back to water4dogs for their free swim and he's boarded there when we travel.
Free swim is fun, and there are tons of toys available for the dogs to play with in the pool.

Time to swim with your dog! This ain't CA, it's NY where pools and beaches aren't very abundant. So what do you do? Come here to swim with your dog!
I brought my pup here and he was terrified of the water, but he was a quick learner. You can swim here too, so I did! My pup put on a life jacket, and there's plenty of toys to play with, too. You can also bathe him (and yourself if you wanted to, in their shower). There's towels for both, and some wipes to clean their ears.
$35 for half an hour is pretty steep, however. I wouldn't come here regularly, but it

I am highly disappointed in the service at this facility. I have a 7 year old lab who recently had surgery on a torn ACL. I booked an appointment with a person who told me it would be $50 for a private swim session. I had a discussion with her about his surgery, sent her a clearance letter from the vet and again she told me it would be $50 for a private swim session with my dog (who is a highly trained swimmer)
On the day of the session I was informed I would have to give my dog an additional vaccination of Bordatella even though his doesn't come due until Jan of 2012. They said they could

Well, hello 100th review!
Water 4 Dogs is a water therapy facility in Tribeca.
My senior dog is rehab-ing his hind leg by using the water treadmill and caps off his session by swimming in the pool.
I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this place.
My dog would've had to have invasive surgery if I never found out about water therapy.
There are open swimming sessions on the weekends where you and your dog can swim together for an hour.
You can also drop your dog off for treadmill therapy.
It's been only 3 sessions, but already my dog has shown tremendous improvement.
