Gold Star Catering and Diner began by catering events in the Greensboro area. Their clients raved about the food and encouraged them to make available their wonderful dishes to the general public. So, owner Mack Jabae decided to open a diner, in addition to his catering business. Mack has been in the food services business for 25 years, working at some of the finest nationally known restaurants across the country.

He is proud to offer delicious, homemade food and excellent service at very reasonable prices to our community. Excellent service. Very surprised on the half pound burger deal. I was expecting your average Wonder bread bun and rubbery patty on there but it was on point gourmet style. I definitely recommend.

Affordable prices, they offer some good deals. However the cashier (older, bald, white looking man w/ slight accent) wasn't that friendly or welcoming though. Due to COVID-19, we asked him if we could eat in the restaurant. And he bluntly just replied "no". I then said "thank you" when he gave us our orders. And while making no eye contact whatsoever, he barely opened his mouth when replying: "you're welcome."
Idk if he's just naturally kinda socially awkward or what, but he definitely didn't have a welcoming demeanor. He doesn't have the personality to be the face of a restaurant & for that reason

Today we ordered from Gold Stars Diner for the first time. We had been looking for a reasonably priced hamburger. Ours were HUGE (1/2 lb. burger) and DELICIOUS! Fries - fantastic! And they were very fast. Will definitely order again!!

Don't go here. Food is mediocre at best. Dangerous area. Plenty of rough people walking around. If you're like me and want to double check, go ahead and read the reviews of the hotel. It's a part of "Choice Extended Stay." Also I've noticed that the staff is posting good reviews themselves. You can tell by their pictures. The food is in the kitchen prep area, which is off limits to customers.
