Mangel Florist created a stunning arrangement for my fiancé to propose when we were staying at the Drake. And when we left two days later, they wrapped them up for me to take on the train from Chicago to Champaign. We had a tragic event occur a few years back at the intersection of Michigan and Oak , downtown Chicago. We place flowers there in memory of our lost son. This year , due to medical reasons we were forced to pass the baton to Mangel Florist. The whole organization of Mangel Florist, especially Sue O'Rourke were very professional , acceptable and foremost caring on our special requests. They provided photos of the placement of flowers,and banner. This made the horror of the situation less of a nightmare.

I came to the shop with photos of a centerpiece for dining table and a bridal bouquet that I really liked. The owner and designer at the shop explained to me in detail how I should care for the flowers once I had received them and how to best keep them as fresh as possible before the event. The actual flower arrangements came out even prettier than the pictures. Hands down the best florist I had worked with and highly recommend!

This store has the best selection of unique gifts in the city . I’ve lived and shopped downtown for 35 years and am always astounded at the ever changing selection of fabulous items . Then there are the FLOWERS! Last arrangement I received lasted almost 3 weeks ( with care) . They have a large selection of rare flowers pictured are the huge green roses ( special ordered )

I had an excellent experience here recently. I came in frazzled as we were doing last minute finishing touches for my Mother's Memorial service. I was introduced to Kevin who so patiently took my order that changed three times in a span of 15 minutes! He was able to order the calla lilies fresh and in a 36 hour turnaround!! At time of pickup an adorable French Bulldog greeted us, which is the Owners dog. This dog is so sweet and gentle. The lilies were stunning and having them in time for my Mother's service was incredible. The shop is located in The Drake Hotel next door to Lavazza

I put together an engagement party for my boss in Chicago . I made arrangements a few days prior with the manager. I flew out to Chicago from LA over the weekend and the red carnations that I had such trouble finding at other florist shops. This florist had no problem ordering them and providing them for me on my pick up day . The flower arrangements came out beautifully! Great customer service as well.

The florists at Mangel make the most beautiful floral arrangements I have ever seen! You won't find a more dedicated floral team in Chicagoland. The gift shop alone is worth a visit, since they consistently rotate their store with fresh inventory. Look no further for Mother's Day and Valentine's Day!
If you're lucky, you might just see the cutest and friendliest French bulldog in the world. The owners occasionally bring their pup to the store, where she is the belle of the ball :)

Mangel's Kevin did the flowers for our wedding two weeks ago and I look at those pictures almost daily! They did a fantastic job of creating something beautiful with very little direction from us (we're not very particular people). They not only made all the flower arrangements, but also were so gracious to bring them to two locations for us: the hotel and the restaurant! I can't say enough amazing things about this experience so I'll let the pictures do the talking!

We used Mangel Florist for our wedding back in September. Working with Colin Collette was great! He went above and beyond on our flowers. Before the wedding, we met up with Colin a couple times to go over what flowers we were thinking, who would need flowers, and colors. Colin prepared a sample bouquet a couple weeks before the wedding and we were blown away by it. Colin took exactly what we described and created a beautiful arrangement.

This florist is tucked away in the small shops around the Drake Hotel, and it is great! My husband bought flowers for me here, and they were so beautiful and chosen with the help of the florist working Easter weekend. He arranged the yellow rose bouquet beautifully with other flowers, and gave my husband tips on making them last. We were staying at the hotel and know nothing about flowers, so this was helpful.
They also have an array of stuffed animals and gifts in the store, and the flower selection is big for a small hotel shop. Prices are a little high, but expected for the location. Quality

WOW! Cannot say enough good things about his flower shop!!! While I had used them in the past, I had a horrendous experience with 1-800-FLOWERS for a very important delivery of flowers to celebrate a 90th birthday........don't get me started on them!!!!
In any case, Jill is a treasure: I called in desperation at 4:30 in the afternoon and the flowers were deliver within an hour (admittedly, 3 block away to be fair) but still, incredible! And the flowers, such a luscious arrangement in corals, peach, amber and gold: roses, alstromeria, hypericum berries and lots of other gorgeous stuff.

My daughter had her wedding at the Drake Hotel on Dec. 30. Before we knew of Mangel's capabilities, we contracted with an outside vendor, which was the biggest mistake. Her bouquet was nothing like the picture we showed her and was already wilted when delivered. I went to Mangel's in the Drake hotel, to see if they could help, an hour and a half before pictures were to be taken. Without even showing them a picture, they reworked the bouquet using what flowers they could salvage and adding others. It was perfect and done in an hour! I was happy to find a florist in this area that is not foolishly overstraining at artistry or overpriced. Instead, this store has an excellent selection of flowers, refuses to sell flowers that seemed wilt-ready, and also possesses a quaint, pleasingly eccentric character. E.g., I'm about to head back there to buy an Edward Gorey book for my cousin's son before I head to the airport. But I will leave the large skull door-knocker there for someone else to buy.
