When Office Manager Christina is not flying around corralling the various Beaverton Ortho personalities, she dreams of her signature drink, "Hip Hop on a Tropical Beach." Inspired by her favorite music and her favorite vacation spot, the ingredients are chocolate, a dash of chocolate, and a shot of chocolate.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from UCLA in 1984, Steve completed his dental school training with high honors in 3 years at the University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. He then practiced general dentistry in Santa Rosa, and concurrently taught at his dental alma mater until he began his Orthodontic residency at OHSU, here in beautiful Portland.
At Beaverton Orthodontics, we are dedicated to working with patients of all ages to create great smiles and confident lifestyles. Dr. Steven Black provides genuine, interactive, individualized treatments for patients throughout the Portland metro area. You can find our office in the Murrayhill neighborhood of southwest Beaverton, conveniently located between Aloha and Tigard's Bull Mountain.
At Dr. Black's office, our initial consultation is complimentary. During this exam, our Treatment Coordinator will take digital photos of your teeth and take a digital panoramic x-ray, if you haven't had one in the last year. You will then meet Dr. Black, who will conduct a thorough Orthodontic examination, and he and our Treatment Coordinator will help explain the treatment recommendations.
Dr. Black prefers to first evaluate children around age 7 to advise if orthodontic treatment is required and to determine the best timing for treatment. The first permanent molars and incisors have usually come in by that time and crossbites, crowding, and other problems can be evaluated. For very young children, Dr. Black recommends ortho treatment only if there are significant long-term benefits to your child from doing so.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Steven Black and the staff at Beaverton Orthodontics!! Both of my teenage son's have seen Dr. Black for their braces and I simply cannot say enough good things about the price, service and our overall experience.
Braces are expensive and with our older son we did not have orthodontic coverage. I was impressed with the evaluation and the detailed explanation that Dr. Black provided for us.
