Trail Rider Pizza
We, Elton and Ashlea Allen, have proudly owned Trail Rider Pizza since 2006. We grew strong roots in the community in a small trailer down by Molly's bar where we operated for 12 years. In 2018 we relocated to the Triangle plaza where we built our dream kitchen. We put a lot of love and pride into everything we make.

All of our ingredients are prepared fresh daily starting with our dough, made fresh every morning. Top it with our signature sauce made fresh. Next comes the whole milk mozzarella, grated daily in house; no pre shredded cheese is used in our kitchen. Finally top it with your choice of fresh chopped veggies, meats or vegan meat substitutes.

The staff are very friendly and they are short staffed, but it's nice to have hot pizza available in the Sandia park/Cedar Crest area. The dining in experience is kitschy, clean and quiet. The three stars is for the food really, it's just average. Nothing to write home about, but it's the only pizza in the area. The flavors fall flat for me. I've tried several pizzas, calzone, and the green chili cheese sticks. Pricey for what you get. Having the option is nice. The dessert offerings are good. Cupcakes and brownies, even gluten free options.

My family and I love this place! We just found out they have gluten free crust and gluten free pastries. I'm super excited about this. Unfortunately last night my pizza crust was super hard but I've been here before and even their regular crust is hit or miss. We sometimes get too soft of crust, too doughy, or to hard. But I have faith this place will figure it out and my crust will be better next time.

I’m a touring musician and when my friends saw we were playing in Albuquerque I started getting messages from multiple people to stop by Trail Rider Pizza. Ashlea, the owner reached out and invited the band over as well. Unfortunately we had already sat down to eat before our show..she ended up coming to the show and then feeding us the next morning on our way out to the next town. The pizza was honestly some of the best pizza I’ve ever had and the hospitality was 10/10. What other places do you know that greet you with a “Welcome home”? Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!

These guys rock, and take making gluten free pizza seriously! We ordered take-out and received a call back shortly after to ask if our gluten free was for an allergy or not. Apparently they were concerned about a cross contamination with gluten with sun dried tomatoes and wanted to make sure we didn’t have any allergies. They were super busy due to a power outage on top of normal Saturday night orders. Gluten isn’t an issue with us fortunately but thought it was cool for them to make sure. So enjoy their pizza and don’t worry If you have a gluten allergy!

Absolute best. My family & I love driving up here just for this pizza every once in a while. The Buffalo Cauliflower wings are so good as well & today we tried the Beyond Burger. Always wonderful service, super nice staff & never fails for them to come out & ask how we're liking our food. The quality and taste are consistent every visit. Sure to always leave very happy & very full.

Trail riders is a great stop for those looking for vegan options while in Cedar Crest. With delicious homemade pepperoni or the deliciously filled Stromboli, you will leave this quiet "cool vibe" local eatery full. The prices are a bit high but definitely worth the stop- grab a vegan homemade cupcake while there!

After a drive from Alamogordo and shopping in the big city. (Albuquerque)
What a delicious surprise to find a homie pizza place. After a short drive to Cedar Crest, we enjoyed pizza and an adult beverage for a late lunch. The crust was baked to perfection and the sauce was just sweet and thick enough. We have never had that much pepperoni on a slice of pie.
Elton the owner came by to insure we were pleased with our selection. We appreciated this personal touch as we did the greeting of "welcome home" when we entered.
You won't be disappointed unless you forget to try a cupcake

I was very disappointed in the quality of the pizza here. I'm something of a pizza snob, I guess, and I'm expecting a certain level of quality in the prep, in the ingredients, and the taste. Service was ok, (covid, so hard to judge), and the pizza itself seemed to be prepared according to their standards, I just found them to be disappointing.

It's rare for me to find a pizza place I don't care for but this one goes on that list.

We read that this was the best pizza in New Mexico so off we went. It wasn't easy to find so look for Ace Hardware and it is directly across the street. It is particularly "cheesy" and delicious. I would recommend this place for pizza for sure!!

Just met the owner at Polk's Folly farm across the street (great fresh farm produce/local goods, etc) and then dashed over to see what kinds of treats are. I got some chocolate chip cookies and they were absolutely delicious - only got a tiny bite as the kids and non-vegan husband got to them before me. Sigh, may have to go back tomorrow. I can't wait to try their other vegan deserts - I'm a big cake fan so cupcakes are next!
I remember last year just before or around the pandemic we ate at Trail Rider and the dough was so pillowy and fresh tasting. I think the pizza crust has not

Loved the pizza sauce, great ratio of sauce to ingredients. Got the meat lovers, added green chili and onion, green chile dices were visible but couldn't really taste them. Arrived on time, not super hot (temp) like it had been sitting but overall pretty good.

We were traveling the Turquoise Trail and started off here to get fueled up for the day. No inside seating yet due to CoVid but we were able to eat at the outside tables. We ordered a 16” with pepperoni & sausage (large enough we’d have some to take home), a sea salt brownie and walnut chocolate chip cookies. The pizza was AMAZING! I LOVE pizza and am really picky about it - and this stuff was the bomb! Great sauce! Great crust! The baked goods were yummy also. The staff was friendly and helpful also! Definitely check this place out. Wish I could give it 10 stars!

Ok, so their pizza is beyond amazing!!!!
You've got to try it.
But, what I love the most is their vegan pizza and other Italian dishes. They have a full menu that is vegan and a variety of baked goods, also vegan. The pecan roll is to die for.....
Their dine in is not open yet but a drive there for their pizza is well worth it. Make it a picnic!

Pizza is my love language.

I was on the search for an excellent gluten-free/vegan pizza. The keyword here is GOOD. Haha, and oh boy, did I find it. My husband and I had to travel about 20 minutes to get there, but it was so worth it. We ordered the toasted vegan meatball sub, cheese bread with green Chile, and a gluten-free, vegan veggie pizza. First off, it was so much food. We had so much leftover.

I'm going to give this whole meal a 10 out of 10. The food was delicious and didn't taste the way most vegan pizzas taste. Even the vegan meatball sub tasted fantastic. I felt like I

Delicious! We've been getting Trail Rider every week since we moved to the East Mountains recently. Service is always friendly and communicative. Pizza is GREAT! The dough has the perfect amount of chewiness and the sauce has the perfect amount of acid. We've been getting plain ol' pepperoni, but we'll have to venture into their specialty pizzas soon. Salads are fresh and garlic knots are a perfect snack for the drive home.

It's rare I find myself up by the east mountains these days. Of course every time I make it that way it's always an experience and an epic one! My best friend wanted to try this pizza place and so we met here. He told me there was a lot of hype for their famous pizza so just had to try.

Honestly I'm pretty basic when it comes to pizza. From good old pepperoni, to the ninja turtles pizza (pepperoni and mushrooms), and of course the supreme and meat lovers. Plain cheese is good but I prefer mine with meat. As long as they've got the basics were good to go!

Whaaaa Clean single person bathrooms with brown stained concrete floors just in case of an accident??!!? That's a 5 star situation for sure! Great bathrooms.

Food wise I had the tijeras pizza with gluten-free crust and I have to say the crust was Then and crumbly without the chewiness have a lot of other gluten-free crust. This is definitely one of the best gluten-free crust I've had in a very long time.

Will come back!

THE NOTZARELLA STICKS ARE SO GOOD! Yes, I was yelling.
Coming in from California to take care of some family business outside Albuquerque proper, I was finding it to be quite difficult to find some good vegan good. Thank goodness for Trail Rider pizza. They have a separate vegan menu full of delicious vegan items. Even better is that they don't use Daiya. (They use Violife and they have a homemade tofu ricotta.). They even have vegan ranch (which was really tasty) for their cauliflower wings. Their vegan menu includes: cheese bread, green chile cheesebread, pizza, calzones, strombolis
