The state of Connecticut has an easy time proving a probation violation. It is not required to prove the violation beyond a reasonable doubt - just by a preponderance of the evidence. And even if evidence is gathered illegally, the state can press charges. In short, a probation violation can be a slam dunk for the prosecution.
When you pay your ticket, what you actually are doing is admitting guilt, whether you believe that the ticket was warranted or not. And that citation stays on your record, potentially costing you hundreds or thousands of dollars through fines and insurance increases. Before you blindly pay your ticket, make sure you understand your rights and speak to an attorney about whether or not you can fight your citation.

I hired Mr. Muchinksky to represent me in a fairly serious criminal case (a 2nd DUI charge). I was on the verge of losing my house and leaving my family destitute. The case was drawn out for over a year while Mr. Muchinsky explored all possible angles of defense, keeping me in the loop every step on the way. I am very pleased with the resolution of the case and I would definitely hire him again if I ever had another legal issue. Professional, articulate, and he always has is client's best interest in mind.
