Woody's Tavern is located in a historic building in Farmingdale, NJ. At one time it was called The Farmingdale House and people traveled great distances to dine there. Twenty years ago it opened as Woody's Roadside Tavern - and the rest as they say. They have preserved the character of Woody's Tavern - tasty food, attentive and friendly staff, and the neighborhood feel you get when you walk through our doors.
Woody's has a large bar area with tables and booths boasting 15 televisions for your viewing pleasure. The menu includes favorites such as hamburgers, wings and sandwiches, plus Woody's specialty salads with homemade dressings and our delicious homemade soup! Daily lunch and dinner specials. Waffle-cut fries topped with mixed cheeses & bacon, baked till bubbly and served with sour cream on request. Oven baked home made fresh jalapeo pepper halves filled with Italian sausage, cream cheese and parmesan filling. Fresh Eggplant, lightly fried with sliced tomatoes, roasted peppers, basil and fresh mozzarella topped with balsamic glaze.
Soup of the day or Manhattan clam chowder served with a 1/2 chicken salad, turkey or ham with lettuce and tomato on your choice of bread. Tender fillet, Served on a roll with lettuce & tomato with a side of tarter sauce on request. Triple decker of fresh turkey, lettuce, tomato, bacon & mayo on toasted white, wheat or rye.

This place was pretty great. The service was excellent! Really nice waitress, very personable and had wonderful timing.
The atmosphere is cool, not too loud, but not stuck up.
I got the Greek salad with chicken. It was excellent and fresh. A good amount of chicken! Definitely worth it!
I went there with my best buddy and her boyfriend.
She got the baja burger and fries. Now, I do NOT like avocado, so the burger was not for me, but she looooved it! And those fries....AMAZING!
Her boyfriend got the Texas bourbon burger. I didn't taste it, but it looked hella good. And he quite enjoyed it

The food was good. But to the manager who was on tonight, you laughed at me because I was concerned that there was tiny little dachshund left outside in a car in their parking lot, window open, at risk for being stolen, and shivering for 2 hours. That was demeaning and unprofessional! Shameful! Thank you to the hostess and the servers who found the owner. We let them know their dog was outside freezing and crying. Shame on that owner of the little dog in the silver Mercury Sable. It was heartbreaking to witness. Next time leave your dog home where it will be safe. And the manager, well, he needs

Wow! What an awesome place. Not only was our server beyond attentive and happy to make any/all modifications to our dishes, but all the food came out hot, delicious, and in no time. We brought our dog and the huge water cooler and dog menu truly made us feel not that dogs were allowed, but were welcome. 11/10 experience. What a gem of a restaurant!

We are locals who have dined at Woody's with our friends and family many times. A dear loved one recently passed, and we decided to have the repast at Woody's on Sunday 5/27. We reserved the room in the back and were expecting about 50 people.
problem 1: The food ran out before all the guests had a chance to eat, and we waited 45 minutes for the buffet to be replenished. This place used to be really good, but lately it's gone downhill. The French onion soup used to be the best around, but now it taste like lemony dishwater. Food is ok but for some reason they encourage dogs when dining outside - I'm not sure if the dogs tip well but I sure don't see the need to bring the family pet to dinner.

3/20/21 Update - Visited Woody's today after hyping it up to friends and I couldn't have been more disappointed. Something has changed here since my last few visits. The service was very abrupt and less than friendly and the place looked unkept. I used to think everything on the menu was good but I've learned that may not be the case.
The French Dip was more fat than meat and the cheese was not melted, the bread on the Rueben was so soggy that my tablemate refused to eat it. My grilled chicken panini was incredibly strange as it was definitely not like any panini I had before and

It's what you'd expect from a local hole-in-the-wall, solid bar grub and cold adult beverages on tap. Long before outside dining made inside dining a crime against humanity, Woody's had one of the most comfortable and authentic interiors around - definitely a place you won't mind losing a few hours with friends. Woody's is the real deal when it comes to neighborhood bardom. Can't think of one thing I'd change. Five stars.

I happen to taste burger with Beyond Meat and it was yummy. However, I felt it was too greasy or may be that's the way it is done.
This place is a big hit for people with Dogs when the weather is friendly enough. They give your pup a water bowl and there is lot of space for your pup to hang around while we eat.

Came here with the wife & In-Laws over the weekend. Honestly, 3 out of 4 of our meals were just plain bad. Very mediocre & lackluster. My blackened grouper was super heavy-handed with the spice level. My Father-In-Law had the fried fish, he was disappointed because he wanted to have the Seafood platter, but it wasn't offered on the menu. BUT it was listed on the online menu. C'mon, update your website ! And get a professional chef, you need one if you offer more than typical bar fare on your menu ! Sloppy. My Mother-In-Law could have gotten a better chicken sandwich at

If you're looking for a place with a big selection of good food, great selection of craft beer and a full bar, and a great time look no further! One of the better pubs in central New Jersey. Lots of fun here, great environment and reliable service.
Me and some friends ordered some flights of beer and I enjoyed their selection of craft beers. My only complaint is they brought the beers out separately and placed them on the table instead of putting them on a wooden flight

AMAZING ALL AROUND ! This is the place to be. atmosphere is great wonderful live music very nice staff. The burgers were amazing (we got the Baha burgers ) large portions bigger than the plates but still managed to finish since it was so yummy . This review actually covers two recent visits - one with a group of disenfranchised Central Jersey Yelpers (our CM is gone and we patiently await a replacement) and the other with a group of fraternity brothers and significant others.

Woody's Roadside Tavern was the site of a UYE for Central Jersey Yelp group. I was lucky to be invited as a part time Jerzee guy. This was my first visit to Farmingdale and Woodster's. Plenty of knotty pine. Large oval bar. Good beer choices. Decent happy hour menu and pricing.
We took over a corner of the bar with our dozen or so friends. Service was fine from the bartresses and foodtenders. The rest if the house looked like regulars, taking stools and tables around the big room.
I ate some chicken fingers off the HH list. They were plentiful, crisp and tasty. The beer flowed well

Word around town was that Woody's wasn't even worth a visit in the past. You can see many of the poor reviews are very old. Times have definitely changed.
We decided to stop by for lunch after seeing an article online about Woody's being dog friendly. We hopped in the car with our pup and headed there.
The outdoor dog friendly area is large and impressive. There are plenty of picnic tables and many are shaded by large trees. The large smooth landscape rocks keep bugs at bay and paws from getting muddy (ladies leave the heels at home). They also have a small bar out here (closed

Went to the Brewfest @ Woody's that is an annual event. They have it outside in the back of the building. Entertainment, craft beer, friends & family make for a good afternoon. See list of beers.
The beer reps and one Jameson rep were super friendly showing off their beverages.
