Gentle Learning Preschool
Gentle Learning Preschool's classrooms provide a variety of high-interest centers to encourage young students to learn while playing! Much of a young child's knowledge comes from interaction with the surrounding world, direct experience with real objects, and talking about experiences and ideas. We recognize the value of providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for our young learners.

Our curriculum has been thoughtfully aligned with the Illinois Early Learning Standards. We carefully select and create lessons to engage our students' intellectual, social, and physical needs that will help prepare them for future academic success.
Services
A developmentally appropriate early childhood education experience teaches children social skills, fine and gross motor skills, language development, classroom and readiness skills, and foster a love for learning. Because many of our children remain with us throughout their preschool years, we have developed a curriculum to define the differences between the intellectual, social, and physical needs of each age group.
Designed as a stepping-stone into preschool, this class caters to the children who missed the cut/off date for fall preschool. Stepping Stones will prepare your child for the socialization & activities associated with preschool on a smaller scale. Our instructor & aide will incorporate arts and crafts, story and circle time, games, & activities to enhance socialization as well as fine and large motor skills.
A variety of academic and physical learning programs designed for children ages 3-5 who want to explore a special interest. These classes are usually 1 hour in length, beginning at 12:30pm and are held on the same day for 3 consecutive weeks. Special interest areas include math, science, reading, arts & crafts, cooking, and sports.
Gentle Learning Summer Camp - a place for Lisle Park District's littlest campers. Throughout June and July, we will welcome campers ages 3-5 (and those entering Kindergarten) to join us for half days full of outdoor activities, games, arts and crafts, exploring, socializing, and water play. We will have snack time each day - campers will provide their own snacks.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Elementary Education as well as my Masters of Education in Reading and Literacy, Reading Specialist from Benedictine University. I taught kindergarten and 1st grade in South Florida for 3 years before returning to Illinois to teach 1st grade in Lemont.

Love this school a lotttt. Teachers are great here. There are so many different kinds of great activities and programs conducted by this school with minimal amount of pay. My son was always excited to go to gentle learning preschool every single morning.

We loved our 1st year with our 3 year old son at Gentle Learning. Lots of projects sent home, a Mom’s night and Dad’s night were both really fun. Caring teachers with great communication. Our son thrives with this program.
