After a careful and thorough examination, your doctors may recommend a tooth extraction. X-rays will be taken of the area and a plan for the safe removal of the tooth will be made. For many people, local anesthesia (numbing) in the area of the tooth extraction is sufficient for their comfort during the procedure.
In the case of minor damage or decay, a dental filling may be used to restore a tooth. The decayed portion of the tooth is first removed, leaving behind a hole or void, which is then filled with a tooth-colored composite filling material. This durable composite material replaces the missing tooth structure and seals the tooth, preventing any bacteria from entering the tooth in this area.
Periodontal disease (also known as gum disease) affects nearly half of all adults, but it is preventable with proper oral care and hygiene. Gum disease is caused by plaque and tartar buildup from not brushing and flossing regularly. The disease begins with inflamed, sensitive gums, but can lead to more serious issues such as tooth loss.

In almost 30 years on this planet I had never found a dentist who made me feel comfortable in their chair. Kirby Smiles definitely provided an experience that changed my perceptions. From the moment you enter the office, the staff are lovely and kind, and the dentists are professional, gentle and understanding. The experiences I have had here make it much easier for me to schedule my future visits with an actual smile on my face. I’ve had many dentists in my life, all were good don’t get me wrong. Coming here though was a game changer. I’ve never had procedures so clearly explained and all my questions answered. They walk you through all the steps they’ll take before starting which is really nice and continually ask if your ok during their work.

Being a Dental Hygienist myself, I'm pretty particular who I have as a Dentist. I am SO GLAD we picked Kirby Smiles out of the numerous Dentists in Pearland.
Dr. Hemann and her staff are absolutely WONDERFUL. They are all CARING, GENTLE, KNOWLEDGEABLE and FRIENDLY. Dr. Hemann did GREAT with our kids too (ages 3,5 and 6).
The office is GORGEOUS (seriously, it's STUNNING) and super CLEAN (very important to me).
We look forward to our dental visits because we love it here so much! Our family highly recommends Kirby Smiles!

This place is amazing!! I haven't been to the dentist in an embarrassingly long amount of time (like 10 years oops) so I've been extremely nervous to go. My husband went and saw Dr. Ilustre and had a great experience so I figured I'd give him a shot and I am sooo glad I did!!! I walked out of my first appointment looking like a new woman!! The staff is so friendly and makes you feel so comfortable, and not to mention the office itself is so beautiful. I actually can't wait for my next appointment lol. Seriously take yourself to Kirby Smiles you won't regret it!!!
