Dr. Darren Dotson is originally from the Iowa Great Lakes Area and has practiced in Spirit Lake since 2003. He graduated from Okoboji High School in 1994. He attended Buena Vista University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He went on to attend the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Mona has been a hygienist with Hill Avenue Dental for 26 years. She moved back to Spirit Lake in 1994 where she and her husband Tim have raised four children and now have six grandchildren. Mona continues to enjoy her free time biking, golfing and kayaking. Amber graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of South Dakota.

Such a great place! Amazing dentists and hygienists! Everyone is so friendly and kind. I’m terribly anxious and they made me feel at ease with a wonderful paraffin hand dip and hot towel while they did my cleaning! Like a mini spa! My experience was extremely similar to others who have submitted positive reviews. Making an appointment was easy and the interval between making it and holding it was surprisingly short. Amber, my hygienist, was very friendly, professional and efficient. She has a very gentle touch and let me know what she was doing and what was next at every step. First time patient here. So far, so good. Hygienist was very pleasant and gentle. Technology is first rate. Dr Dotson explained everything and I didn’t feel rushed at all. Receptionist was helpful. Bring your checkbook and get a discount. Real test will be at future appointments for restorative work. I’m such a baby...stay tuned.
