Services
Our goal is to create a relaxing, comfortable, child-friendly atmosphere for your child's dental visit. Schmidt Pediatric Dentistry is a state-of-the-art dental environment designed specifically for children. It includes a play area and big screen monitors to enjoy DVD movies during exams. The office is fully computerized for patient charting, billing, scheduling, and treatment planning.
Along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that your child's first dent visit be scheduled by his/her 1st birthday. By establishing care early in life our goal is to prevent dental decay so that your child can be "cavity free" for life. During an infant exam we will discuss oral hygiene techniques, diet, and fluoride exposure.
Pediatric dentistry is a dental specialty that focuses on the oral health of infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs A pediatric dentist receives an additional two years of specialized training beyond the four years of dental school.
The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems. The pediatric dentist is best qualified to meet these needs. To prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, usually between 6 and 12 months of age, certainly no later than his/her first birthday.

I really wanted to give this place a good review, because the dental work is solid and they have stuff to entertain children as they should, plus there is a treasure chest the children get to choose from at the completion of an appointment.
but, big but, the receptionists are rude. They are inflexible, and lack understanding. In fact, in the middle of a snow storm, i had to make it to my appointment or my child who has already waited 3 months to be seen, would have to wait another 2 months.
I know they have more spots open than they admit to, because they can literally squeeze you in if you say

My husband was nice enough to drive my son over an hour to his appt and was unsure of the location. Upon arrival, he was 8 minutes late and the Receptionist refused my son his appointment. My son was then rescheduled and upon finding a cavity, unfortunately, the office that wouldn't allow us 8 minutes of flexibility has a 5 month wait to fix his cavity. However, I noticed a bill in the mail a matter of days later with a 20 day window for payment. It's clear this office no longer needs patients.

Dr. Schmidt is a wonderful pediatric dentist. She worked my child into her busy schedule to see him in an emergency. She was able to identify the problem and fix it as soon as she could get him in. Her office staff is wonderful, office space is beautiful and well appointed. I highly recommend her. We are lucky to have such a professional in our community.

After my ex forgot to send a check along, so I had to call in and make a payment before they would see my daughter. I call in and make the payment. All good right? NOPE they sent her home because they were behind already and just took the next patient. This is after driving an hour (which we told them we had done), and waiting over an hour in the waiting room both times before. Very difficult to work with.
