Our school was founded in 1974 with the goal of creating a culturally, and economically diverse community that is united through its commitment to parental involvement in education and to fostering a respect for the environment. We are Geist Orchard Cooperative Preschool, located in Fishers, IN. We are housed in the St. Thekla home located on the property of St. George Orthodox Church, although we are not religiously affiliated.

Services
A cooperative preschool is a group of families who hire trained teachers and work with them to provide a quality preschool experience for their children. The cooperative preschool is owned, maintained, and administered by the families on a non-profit, non-sectarian basis. Cooperative preschools provide a developmentally appropriate learning environment that meets social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of young children.
Play reflects a child's continuous emotional, intellectual, social, and physical growth and development. Our primary goal is to help each child develop a positive self image and foster a desire for learning. Parents and teachers work together to provide a nurturing, stimulating environment in which children learn through various play opportunities.
Geist Orchard Cooperative Preschool admits children aged 3-5 years, regardless of race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin. Parents are also asked to consider their child's personality and developmental stage when considering appropriate age to begin a preschool program. Open enrollment applications accepted in order of paperwork and payment received beginning 1st Monday in February.
Indiana Council of Preschool Cooperatives (ICPC) governs basic guidelines and Standards for Indianapolis Cooperative Preschools. Parking is located directly across from the school in the church parking lot. Please DO NOT park in the driveway of the school or the road directly in front of the school.
Take a minute to hear from our teachers, Ms Jarah and Ms Jaime for an overview of our two classes. Twigs is our 4/5 year old class, and Sprouts is our 3 year old class. GOCP believes that learning through play provides the most beneficial learning opportunities. This is accomplished by classroom activities located on two levels within the school, as well as exploring the outside world of nature.
