The criminal justice system is a beast. It'll eat you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It can make you feel confused. Overwhelmed. Scared. Angry. Hopeless. I became a criminal defense attorney because I wanted to make sure people like you don't have to face the beast alone. I've dedicated my career to advocating on behalf of the criminally accused in state and federal courts throughout New Haven, Connecticut.

If you hire me to represent you in your criminal case, you will gain a fierce ally who will exhaust every possible resource and defense strategy to achieve the outcome you desire. A criminal charge is a very serious matter. Even a low-level first-time misdemeanor offense can result in consequential penalties, including jail time, fines, probation, and community service.
Services
If you've been charged with a federal crime, your case will be heard in federal court. The federal court system is drastically different than the state court system. Because you allegedly violated federal law, the U.S. Government has jurisdiction over your case.

This means that an Assistant United States Attorney or federal prosecutor, along with federal agents from certain law enforcement agencies (FBI, IRS, DOJ, DEA, etc.) will be responsible for investigating and prosecuting your case.Drug-related offenses such as possession, sale, distribution, or manufacture of significant quantities of controlled substances, narcotics, or marijuana;.

In New Haven, CT, an arrest for operating under the influence (OUI) of alcohol or drugs, sometimes called driving under the influence (DUI) triggers two separate cases or proceedings: criminal and administrative. In your criminal case, the State's Attorney for the New Haven Judicial District will be tasked with establishing your guilt.
Relationships with the people we love can be complicated. Arguments can sometimes get heated and things can get physical, and before you know it someone has called the cops and you've been placed in handcuffs. Connecticut statute defines domestic violence as "acts of family violence." This means that any act that causes physical injury or the threat of physical injury towards a family member can be charged as family violence.
In Connecticut, there are many criminal offenses that fall under the umbrella of "theft" or larceny including burglary and robbery. Burglary involves unlawfully breaking and entering into a building with the intent to commit larceny. Robbery, on the other hand, involves the use or threat of force to steal the property of another.

In the time I have known Ms. Mirsky, I have discussed cases with her and witnessed the progression and completion of their stories. Ms. Mirsky is intrepid and fair. I have seen her handle multiple cases and I am impressed at her willingness to follow through on details. She does not make undeliverable promises. In several instances, I have seen her have more concern for the wellbeing of her clients than her clients seem to have.
