The Jailhouse is a casino and motel with 60 rooms located in Ely, NV near the historic U.S. Route 50, "The Loneliest Highway". Very disappointed with the service and stay at Jailhouse. We stopped by for a night on our way down to Vegas. The price most definitely does not match the place. You have to expect the unexpected, especially at a motel, but certainly would you not expect to find bed bugs crawling on your neck, getting into your luggage, and being in constant fear that you are bringing them to your next destination, and even possibly home. Our toilet was rather sticky and the room smelt of very strong chemicals. The guy at the service desk was understanding, and did put us in another room, far away and clean. However

An amusing, frontier themed hotel and casino. Located near the site of the original Ely jail it has a jailhouse motif with "cells" instead of rooms that are not fancy but perfectly comfortable. Be sure to checkout the Cellblock Steakhouse for dinner for an excellent meal. The on-site casino has a decent selection on of slots and card game machines that seemed to be easy on the wallet. As with most small casinos it and adjoining spaces are rather smokey.

We're staying here for the weekend. Rooms are cheap but clean. Door to our room will not close. Mattress was worn out.
You're in Ely, Nevada and it's pretty much the same with all the motels and motor lodges. I travel quite extensively in my job so I would stay here again for the price because the service was good and the hotel was clean.

Nice setting. Great steakhouse. Cool old buildings. Little trouble with front desk worker. Gave us a 1 bed when we asked for 2. Then seemed surprised it had only 1 bed. Also gave a guy THE SAME ROOM WE WERE IN while my husband was in line behind him waiting to get our room switched.??? I work in a hotel also,front desk, but no sympathy for these mistakes.

I made reservations weeks before my intended stay. 3 rooms for 10 people. When I made the reservations, I was asked at what time I'd like to check in, I requested 2 as that seemed reasonable and approximately when my group should be arriving. When I tried to check in, I was told we weren't allowed untill 3. Unfortunately it was the one day it was raining like crazy in Ely. I really just wanted to get our luggage out of the rain. After we sat in the lobby for an hour. I was finally allowed to check in to my rooms. The desk agent had no clue. I got keys and a receipt for one room after 10 minutes

I've been to the Jail House Restaurant many times, but this time had a horrible experience. It's as though everything that could go wrong, did. We arrived at 7:30, a little late for me to have dinner. We were given glasses of water that the hostess had her dirty fingers in and around the rim. The waitress didn't come to take our order for 15 minutes. She informed us that they were out of bread (one of the things they are known for) and there was no soup (despite it being listed on the special board). I'm not really a salad person, so I was disappointed about the soup. We were

We needed to stay the night and this place had a room. There were a couple small bugs in the bathroom, the floor had not been swept in a while as there were a few little things on it (hair and crumbs maybe). Couple towels dirty not sure if they were stained but one definitely had something rust color on it - not a stain.
It was very quiet here. The pillow cases and bedsheets looked clean.

LOVED IT! Memorabilia of the town's history was everywhere! Our room was clean and quiet. The huge King size bed was tastefully made up and very comfortable. Loved the bedspread and towel display in the bathroom too! Very clever. The staff were all very friendly. The food in the Cell Block Steak House was outstanding. Best meal we've had in a long, long time. Where did they find such a skilled Chef and kitchen staff ? I give this whole shebang Ten Stars! * * * * * * * * * *

The restaurant however after being told it served good hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches was not so great. The hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches have to be ordered from the bar. After we were seated we found that out and ended up ordering the prime rib. Thin cuts and not so great. Baked potato overdone too. Bread was awful. Ordered shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and the shrimp didn't have a fresh taste. 2 * for the restaurant.

We chose this place site unseen because of the good yelp reviews it had. We are a family of four with two small children and quite unsatisfied. The only thing good I can say about the place is the room and bathroom are clean. There is no complementary breakfast like someone had said in their yelp review. The restaurant food was not good and overpriced..especially the ribs. Front desk staff not helpful at all our TV didn't work and she just said "well there's no maintenance here now."I will say the restaurant staff was nice but what good is that when you are in your room hungry

This is my 5th or 6th time staying here at the Jailhouse Casino over the past 10 years. I can't say I have ever had a bad experience here. Last night I had the Lobster tail for dinner. Wow, was I impressed. The chef did an outstanding job with my family's and my meal last night. I tip my hat to him.
The staff was above reproach and I have no doubt I will return to the Jailhouse many more times in the future. Not to mention the view of the snow covered mountains from our hotel room is amazing and refreshing.
