A fun and historic hotel. Yes, it is a little rough around the edges, but you are coming to a mining community in the middle of the desert.. It is not a community filled with Country Club types.
The staff is excellent. I was snowed in and they were very accommodating wis re accommodating with switching around rooms so that I could stay an extra night in an emergency.
It really is a bit of history. You should take it in before it's gone.

Strange place in a strange town! In a good way. I stayed one night in November 2021 and had a good time. The bed is comfortable, the rooms have what you need, just a little dated (really not a problem). The rooms stayed warm and quiet, which was cool considering it was a freezing night above a casino. I played a bit at the bar and enjoyed my free beer and a dinner at the internal Denny's. Also, wild decor on the first floor, worth stopping in to look at.

Interesting historical hotel. Nicely decorated and the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bar is smokey and we could hear road noise and people partying on the street below. The bathroom is tiny, no bathtub or counter space (think airplane bathroom with a shower). The hotel gives you a free drink in the bar and free Dennys breakfast which is a nice touch. Price is good for what you get. Overall a good experience and we enjoyed the historical atmosphere.

Well I thought this was going to be a fairly comfortable stay. I was sadly mistaken. Upon walking in the staff at the desk were horribly rude will not mention names but it was two late aged women treated me like I was invisible and with no customers to tend to. Finally after standing there while they were just chitchatting for about a legitimate hour they gave me an attitude like I was bothering them. Sorry for being a paying customer that just want my room that was reserved ahead of time. Would not recommend this establishment in any way.

This place is so much fun. Stepping into Hotel Nevada is like a trip into history. The hotel is filled with lots of displays and past momentos detailing Ely's mining history and of the various stars and personages, largely from the 50s and 60s, who stayed there. The drinks at the bar are cheap and cocktails are imperfectly made. There are no table games; just slots. The rooms are a little tired, but very clean and brimming with character. The Denny's is pretty much the same as the one you are used to back home, but the service is chaming and the portions are a little larger. Somehow

Wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again. Aside from the smoke filled casino (it probably wouldn’t bother me so much if I didn’t have asthma), I loooved my stay here. So much authenticity and hospitality! Upon check in they give you a free drink coupon to redeem at the bar and a free breakfast at Denny’s in the AM. The rooms were quaint and comfortable & lots of history located in this hotel. Perfect location for those going to Great Basin national park!

This place is a great find in Ely Nevada. We weren't expecting too much, we've had some weird experiences with hotels in small Nevada towns, but this place really delivered. The room was super modern, clean, and the shower was great.
When we checked out they gave us two $5 coupons to the Denny's in the casinos and two drink tickets to the 24/7 bar in the small casino downstairs. Staff were super friendly and the parking lot was large/lighted. It's very cheap for what they provide. Great experience, would stay again.

Vintage Hotel, it was so fun staying here. Historical experience from the front desk, elevator, small hallways, actor/actress name on doors, old door knobs on bathroom & closet, old mirrors. It was a very clean room and didn't smell smoky. Had just the right amount of modern needs to not take away from the history of this building. Thanks for the stay, thanks for keeping the history experience and thank you for keeping the room so clean! We will be back.

The hotel is a bit dated but overall nice. The service was good, the beds were comfy and the free Denny's breakfast was a plus. My only complaint is the whole floor level is a casino and the parking lot is in the back but if you come through the back door you have to walk through the casino which the kids didn't like. I would definitely consider staying again but not with kids or dogs.

This historic hotel has been restored nicely. My wife and I booked a king suite online, which ended up being the Ingrid Bergman room on the top (6th) floor. It was uniquely decorated with photos and posters from her career. [There are several themed rooms on that floor with names of old time famous people--didn't get to see the interiors; but it's a fun concept. Not sure whether those people actually stayed in the rooms; but they could have.]
Our bed was very comfortable, the employees were friendly, and we very much enjoyed our stay!
Bonuses include a free drink at the bar (we got sodas

Wife and I were in town to enjoy the Nevada Northern Railroad and wanted to stay in a vintage place. We both agreed we selected the right Hotel. The price was great and the rooms were freshly renovated. Nice and clean. Rooms were on the small side but that is to be expected with vintage Hotels. Awesome TV with Dish support and windows AC worked great. Denny's in the lobby was convenient and they give you a voucher for breakfast everyday. Highly recommend!!!

The hotel/casino is very old. They have done a great job keeping up the appearance of the place. Old smoke is in the air but they are keeping the smoking out of the rooms which is nice.
We stayed in a "room" which had a comfy bed and the cutest little bathroom. Staff was very helpful and super nice.
Breakfast at Denny's in the hotel was free and Mary our waitress has been there for 23 years and super friendly.
The guns on display are beautiful. It's a must visit.

I love this place! If I could stay here for a couple of months I would. I love how my window is facing the Jailhouse Casino and you can see the lights flashing into the room from the sign. The room and hotel is super cute. Parking is easy and convenient. They have really good and cheap beers. Some of the older slots that are getting hardier to find are here like quarter Wheel of Fortune which is great. The bathtub and bathroom is outdated, but it is still neat. The free pancake breakfast in the morning rocks along with a Keurig in the room.

This place was certain the best value in town, and the best voice, even if you aren't interested in the casino aspect (like we weren't). We had comfortable accommodations at an excellent price, plus when you factor in the breakfast and drink coupons, the place practically pays for itself. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in Ely, which may be sooner than I expected.
The only minor downside was how cramped the bathroom was. It felt like we were on a train.

We chose this hotel because it was only $70/night and allowed pets. There is also a Denny's restaurant inside the hotel that offers a free breakfast for customers staying at hotel. This hotel is inexpensive for a reason...they never cleaned our room for the 3 nights we stayed here. They only put new towels in our room one night. I don't mind using a towel more than once to conserve water. But I called the front desk on our last day and asked our room to be cleaned at least the bed made. After 4 hours, the room had not been cleaned. I checked with the front desk and they informed me that

This hotel definitely has potential to be great, however, the customer service is subpar. The girl who checked us in was short with me, the bartender wasn't very attentive until we tipped her, and there was a man walking around monitoring people with their masks placement. What an unhappy place to be! Despite all that, it was very cool that it was so old and it included breakfast and free beers

Hotel Nevada is sort of the landmark attraction of Ely, Nevada.
For myself.....I was actually driving The Loneliest Road in America going from Baker 400 miles across the state of Nevada and ending in Reno.
Along my trek....the city of Ely was one of the first stops I made. I initially got my "Loneliest Road" Passport stamped acknowledging that I had arrived in Ely, and then as I drove through town.....the whole setting changed from modern and present-day......an absolute throwback to western times.
And this is where Hotel Nevada was situated.....right on the corner of town punctuated

Be warned. The photos of the rooms online do not look anything like the room you may get. We were put in an older family suite. The non-smoking room had definitely been smoked in. The carpet hadn't been replaced since the 1970s. The ceiling was beat up. The room was in rough shape. I asked to be switched to another room. The manager said they didn't have any other rooms available. I then told them I needed to cancel my reservation. Even though we had only dropped our stuff off, she said she had to charge me for the night. I ended up paying just to get out of that place.

Stayed at this historical hotel, small but big in character, well maintained hotel/rooms for a 90 yr old building.
Rooms are small, clean and decorated to go with a historical theme, bathroom is small too and the water situation is true, just take a fast shower and it will be fine, in room coffee make, water bottle and WiFi, the a/c unit works well it cool the room very fast.
We got a complimentary drinks in the evening and breakfast at Denny's .
Affordable price for our room and extras, staff was prompt and friendly, nice walking around the area at night as the weather was perfect.
No smoking

When I decided to visit Ely, several friends mentioned that I had to stya in the historic Hotel Nevada and I'm glad I did. The hotel was built in 1929 and while it shows its age in some ways, if I were to guess having not known, I would have thought she was younger than almost 90.
The room I had was a standard double bed. It was a small room but more than adequate for my needs. I wish I had a small table or desk for my laptop. Instead, I sat in bed and worked with it on my lap. The Keurig coffee maker was perfect in the morning. Two cups of coffee to get me started before going downstairs
