We are looking forward to meeting you and your family. At the first and every visit, your child will be treated with a gentle, caring touch because we know how important those little smiles are. By developing a relationship with your child, Dr. Van Orenstein and his staff will begin the building blocks on which good habits and a healthy attitude towards pediatric dental health are formed.
You should start brushing your child's teeth when the first tooth erupts and you can begin swabbing their gums with a wash cloth even before that. For brushing, use a soft bristled toothbrush with a small head made specifically for infants. Cleaning the teeth removes plaque and bacteria which may lead to tooth decay.
Knocked Out Adult Tooth- Locate the tooth and gently rinse the tooth in milk or water. Avoid touching the root. Try to place the tooth back into the socket and hold in place with finger pressure or a wash cloth. If this is not possible, place the tooth in a cup of milk. Call us immediately because time is of great importance when trying to save the natural tooth.

First appointment and it went so well! My son was being timid at first and both the hygienist and dentist were so patient.
One standout moment that set the tone came in the beginning, when our little one would not “cooperate”, and they said “this is so normal, its okay, we want this to be a positive experience. If we dont get to every step this time, we will get it next time and the time after”. It took the pressure off and helped us relax. They gave him a toy race car and he warmed up a bit, just enough to stay in the room and the TV on the ceiling got him interested in laying down to

My children LOVE going to the dentist. They’ve always had positive experiences with everyone who works here which makes coming in so easy for me. Dr Van is excellent with children as are all the hygienists. The front office staff are also very helpful and knowledgeable. I wish I could come here as an adult!
