Dr. Simmonds is a graduate of the Howard University College of Dentistry. After receiving the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1999, she completed an additional year of hospital based advance dental surgery and comprehensive dental care residency at Howard University Hospital. Dr. Simmonds is committed to a standard of excellence that is driven by her desire to continue learning as time and technology advances.

I’m new to the area and it’s very hard and nerve wrecking to find a care provider that suits your needs. I took a chance with Simmonds Dentistry and I am very pleased with my experiences with them. Wonderful dentist office! Very caring about their patients and are very detailed with your plan of care. Dr. Catral and staff are very thorough and go above and beyond to help mitigate any dental issues you may have. Going to the Dentist has always been in my top 3 most dreaded life experiences UNTIL now. Because of my anxiety, I allowed my teeth to go untreated that I just learned how to stop smiling or smile with my mouth closed.
My first appointment was filled with nerves that were quickly settled with Simmonds Dental Centers top notch staff and purposeful goal to change my prior dental experience. The treatment plan developed not only gave me hope to smile again, it was reasonably priced.

Been going here for at least 7 years and I've been always treated nice. Staff is professional and takes time to explain what needs to be done but gives you freedom to schedule it when ready. I'm glad they now do wisdom teeth extraction rather than referring you somewhere else. I had an infection from the extraction last September and Dr. Catral followed up with me to make sure I was doing okay. They work with your insurance and around your budget. The Simmonds Dental Center is one of the most professionally operated dentist organizations I have ever been associated with. The staff from the front office to the the dental techs are superb. My dentist is Dr. Simmonds. She has excellent chair side manners 😉 She is well trained and has honed her skill to perfection. I always have a great experience coming to Simmonds Dental. Hands down Dr.Simmonds is one of THE BEST dentist I’ve every had. She’s professional, informative, and personable. Her staff is also the best staff I’ve encountered in a dental office. Everyone is polite. My dental hygienist Wayne B. is Phenomenon! He always does a marvelous job on my cleanings, addresses my concerns, gives me good dental advice once needed and entertains me with his singing 😊. I love this dental office and don’t plan on going anywhere else.

These people are amazing. Ive never met a dentist i liked till i walked in to Simmonds. The only problem is they lie. Like when the doctor said it would hurt but they were so gentle. Or that fact that the doctor said he's so busy he'd probably leave me for a bit but stayed and finished. Rather quickly i might add. So do yourself a favor a use Simmonds Dental.

Dr. Simmonds is very rude! I went in to have a crown put back on and some other work done. I had them to put the crown back on a few months earlier, so I asked the assistant if I needed to pay again, because it came off so soon...thinking it may still be covered. Dr. Simmonds comes in, not greeting me, with a really nasty attitude saying she did me a favor putting it back on before, which of course, was never mentioned previously. It wasn't a favor, I paid. Based on my own personal experience at this office. I do not recommend. Yes, the office is nice and clean, but the way my situation was/is being handled I will never go back! Nor will I ever recommend this office.

Dr Simmonds is an excellent physician and simply a good person. I have had multiple dentists, due to relocating for my corporate career and I must admit, Dr Simmonds is the best dentist I've experienced. She is kind, caring, a good listener and excellent in her approach to treatment care. Day before I crack/chipped part of my front tooth and started literally freaking out(for the luck of better word).

Dr. Simmond's has done a good job at assembling a friendly and caring staff. Everyone here seems dedicated to providing exceptional service, and they do. I don't think I have ever been to a dental office this cohesive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure their patients are comfortable. I have definitely found my new dental home. I also love the new patient gift bag they give out and the fact that they take time to give an office tour to new patients- great touch.

I was at this office about a year ago. The 3 stars are for the front desk and for the waiting area, its clean and welcoming, but once you see the dentist or the assistant its like you dont want to be there no more. The dental assistant was cutting me off while i was telling her my reason there. When i asked her about the prices she said that you have to sit down with the lady that takes care of the finacial stuff. Wow!!! What a customer service. What a great staff. My 1st visit was outstanding. Dr.Simmonds assistant actually wanted to know about me personally, I was amazed that she actually cared. They also show you their office and how they clean their tools. I am big OCD lol. 2nd visit was great as well, Dr. Simmonds made sure that I'm super comfortable and eased my pain to minimum. Defiantly will recommend her to my family and friends. Thank you. I bought some goodies for myself as well from them)

Wanted to personally thank Ricardo who took the call , understand the pain I had on the Wisdom tooth and he was able to get me in a short time. This is Amazing. He deserves to be a best employee award...Dr.Sonia Simmonds was kind enough to extract on the same day, even though it was real late and she agreed to do on the same day and provide her discount scheme to save some money. It was nice. Jen who worked with Dr.Sonia Simmonds did a great job. So, I wanted to personally thank all of them including manager Sandra who did the billing work:)
