The food was good. But wasn't really true Basque food. The spaghetti tasted like it was out of a can and green beans (which were also canned or frozen). The meat and everything else was good. Was not given or offered any wine or desert. Which usually comes with a Basque meal. 1st time eating here wasn't bad, just wasn't what I expected as a Basque person.

The food is good, and so is the service. Atmosphere is old-style family dining. It is clean. We came just before dinner, so it was fairly quiet and peaceful. I feel like their lunch prices are a bit on the spendy side, but that's really my only complaint. The Crab Sandwich was pretty darned good! I think their dinner and breakfast beats the lunch outta the water though. Their dinner is KILLER- VERY impressive. Dinner gets you a LOT for the price. Definitely reccomend this place for dinner.

Early June first time we came here with visiting family and the wait staff and food was really good. Place was packed but the waittress was on the ball, we all gave her a tip, she deserved it. They impressed our out of town family!
Our second visit a month later for lunch burgers was not so great. Wait staff was fast and efficient, but the food was not very good. Couldn't finish it. Even if it was an off day for the cook, spending money on a meal out is a lot when it isn't very good.

Wow! What a huge disappointment. Avoid this place!
Service was inattentive and our meals were inedible.
Salad was limp lettuce drenched in dressing, recommended pork was swimming in grease, green beans were canned with huge chunks of raw garlic, potato's were ice cold.
Other item ordered was a "special" sandwich which was far from special... more Mayo than meat with cold limo french fries.
Impossible to send food back, since couldn't even get water or coffee.

We've been going to Toki Ona's since they opened. (We followed the cook from the previous restaurant he worked at). It has always been wonderful food. However as of late, the steak sandwich (which is our go-to) has been subpar. If it were once.....egh....everyone has a bad day. But 2....3 times? Today my husband got home from Salt Lake after brutal back surgery. All he wanted was his go-to. I decided on soup and salad for myself. I ordered from the car to go. All I can say is a disappointing wowww.... the bun was hard, steak was medium well, the fries were soaked in grease and cold.

This place always impresses us. Just the sheer amount of food you get is well worth the price. From the clam chowder(awesome) to the salads and bread(great) to your final course which mine was a huge TBone steak cooked beautifully...it was simply perfection. This place has the Star beat by a mile. Keep up the great work and we will return hungry for more!!

Did a last minute stop in this town to fill-up and glad I did. Found this great restaurant that I wish I could take home with me. From beginning to end the food was deeeeliiiccious!! I ordered the lamb chops with soup along with calamari for appetizer. The soup tasted like a home cooked piece of heaven great for cold weather. It had meat balls and veggies and alotta love in it. The lamb chops were so melt in your moth goodness (ordered medium rare) with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy. I can't wait to pass through this town again on my next trip so I can eat here again.

Was suggested to us to stop here while staying in the area overnight. It was delicious!! I had a salad with the house dressing which was mayonnaise based and a LOT of garlic. Entree was the Basque Pork Chops. They were thin sliced, lightly breaded and very tender. Served with a side of hand cut French fries and green beans. Our waitress was very quick, efficient, and pleasant. Would definitely eat here again if we're in the area.

Went in and got some good breakfast here. Tables were separated a good distance, service was prompt and friendly. All the food was hot, fresh and tasty! The breakfast sausage and fries were amazing. I had the the country fried steak, eggs, hash browns and toast. The steak was super tender and the gravy easy excellent. I was told the hash browns weren't the best but they tasted good to me even though they were a little mushy than regular ones. All in all totally happy and glad we ate breakfast here.

All the sides .. so much ! Green beans, fried rice, spaghetti , Ana potatoes. We came hungry and left stuffed! Waitress was very pleasant. Tables set up for social distance. We were so hungry that we forgot to take photos ! We will come back when in town

I don't usually write bad reviews but this experience was a doozie! We waited over an hour for our food. I got the ribey steak and it was awful. I ordered medium well and it was bloody. There wasn't much of a flavor and a big wierd brown spot in the center. My husband got spicy chicken pasta and had to send it back because there was sooooo much oil in the bowl it wasn't palatable. She removed some of the cost but still charged him for his potatoes and the soup/salad. My girls shared a New York and they seemed to enjoy it. For a 40 dollar steak I expected more. We will not be returning

Toki Ona is a good Basque family style restaurant in Elko.
Soup and bread to start; a lettuce salad with amazing creamy vinegar dressing so simple yet so good.
I like the lamb chops with garlic on top. These aren't shoulder chops, they are loin chops, untrimmed, so the tail of fat is left on.
The sides are spaghetti with a mushroom tomato meat sauce; love it...vegetable rice, green beans, and this time I had the potatoes ana which is a baked potato au gratin.
You're not going to leave this place hungry!
Of course I had spumoni ice cream for desert; I can't help it...
Yes it

It's disheartening to see all these negative reviews as this is a local restaurant in a rural town. Regardless of it being a rural town, they stick to their traditional Basque roots.
American Basque food is famous less for its refinement than for its heartiness, often a dozen or more courses served family style from enormous platters on long, communal tables. The places where it appears are often the remnants of a once-great archipelago of Basque hotels, built to serve as a bit of home for immigrant sheepherders during the early 1900. The Basques have long been one of the most prominent
