AFSF seeks systemic change in K-12 public education by invoking the creative power of the design process to engender a culture of curiosity and personal initiative in our students. MYEEP after-school and summer internships in partnership with the City of SF's Dept. of Youth & Families. AFSF involves elementary and secondary students in a mentored appreciation of architecture, engineering, construction and the design process.
The Architectural Foundation of San Francisco (AFSF) Saturday Design Studio is a distance-learning workshop in sustainable design and digital architecture for high school students. Participants will learn professional digital design tools, receive 1-on-1 mentoring with an architect or engineer, and create a portfolio of photo-realistic and video renderings of their original 3D designs.
The Architectural Foundation of San Francisco (AFSF) announces the 2021 AFSF DESIGN IDEAS COLLECTIVE - An online digital design challenge for high school students. Spurred by future-altering events we collectively experienced, in 2020 AFSF launched its first-ever Design Ideas Collective challenging students to address current issues using design thinking to create a path toward a better future.
The Build San Francisco Summer Design Institute is a fun and fast-paced three week summer program for high school students interested in design and urban development. Students receive instruction on multiple digital design software platforms, present their original work, receive feedback and guidance, and participate in group activities including collaborative teamwork.
