Born in Taichung, Taiwan, Dr. David Chen is the youngest of three children. His family immigrated when he was eight years old, venturing to the United States to pursue the American dream. They settled in San Jose, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, where he spent his formative years within one of the Bay Area's most recognized and competitive school systems.
Dr. Sonny Wong was born in London, England and is the middle sibling of a set of triplets. Doing everything together as a trio, he eventually branched off to attend the University of Oxford, where he earned a B.A in Biological Sciences and later, a Master of Arts degree. During his Oxford years, Dr. Sonny immersed himself in athletics, representing the university in field hockey and rugby for the college.

After three long years of making my daughters mouth perfect, we are out of braces!! Dr. Dave and his team are amazing and make the experience fun. The atmosphere is always positive and upbeat, even the waiting area is like an arcade! The staff turnover is almost nonexistent, which says so much about the culture of the office. We definitely recommend.

We love Dr. Dave & Dr. Sonny!!! Three years getting my daughters smile right, each visit was pleasant, almost enjoyable! The staff is smart, friendly, and efficient. (No turnover either, which says a lot about the culture!) Appointments are almost always on time with no wait and if you have to wait- the arcade! Then a grand exit when you get your braces off!!! Absolutely recommend and would give seven more stars if possible. With all the choices, True Image was the best choice.

From the beginning of our experience with True Image to my daughter getting her braces removed at the end, it has been truly pleasant. My daughter had her braces put on a year and a half ago and just got them removed today. The staff is always very welcoming and hospitable when we come in for visits. My daughter always felt engaged each time because she was given a rewards card she could use to earn points each visit, Any time I had questions about the care of her braces the staff was always helpful in getting me the information I needed. They were also very flexible with scheduling appointments

No other Orthodontist can compare to this one. I've been taking all my kids here for years. (Four kids) We don't have even one complaint. Nice office, nice staff, easy to make appointments. I would definitely check the billing and make sure the amount is the same as what is on your explanation of benefits. For both of my children, I was told I owed more and if I didn't question them, I would have paid more and not known any better. I was given a refund for the difference but I am leary because it happened twice. Also, their retainers are so flimsy and they easily break. Staff in the back are always very friendly and certainly Dr. Chen is a wealth of information. Clean, fun atmosphere. Coffee, cookies, video games, etc. (+5)
However, wait times are terrible! Ever since the move to their new location, it seems they overbook at the cost of making clients wait it out. Arrived on time but still waited 45 minutes. Don't expect to get in at your scheduled time. (-1)

Dr. Dave and his crew are second to none! Amazing! I have been going to this orthodontist for a few years for my own treatment as an adult for the second time and enjoyed every bit! TIO walks you through every phase and you get quality treatment at a reasonable price.

Keep having issues with appointments and how stuff is conducted. My daughter was waiting on appliances and was supposed to get a call when they come in. I waited close to two months before I called and they informed me they had them in for over 3 weeks. Now I also have my son with them. Went in to get spacer for his mandible molars. Was told he did not need them and make another appointment for next month. Coming in for the his next appointment they made a mold for his appliances (instead of doing it last month). Who knew going to the dentist could be so fun???!! This place is really cool! They always have fun contest, a points system, a chance to earn gift cards. The office is very open, no stuffy rooms with one dental chair. Dr. Dave & his staff make this place a happy, fun atmosphere. My son loves going to the dentist. Definitely 2 thumbs up! 5 stars!!!

As far as Orthodontists go, Dr. Chen is the best! I'm a dentist myself, so I'm tough on my dental/medical providers, and Dr. Chen passes the test. I not only appreciate Dr. Chen's clinical knowledge, but the fact that he really cares about his patients! Dr. Chen is always kind, and I appreciate that he and the True Image Team inform and educate me on what's going on. I really enjoy that he talks to both parents and children with the same respect, and doesn't speak over the kiddos.

Staff were helpful and friendly, and he doc was awesome, taking the time to answer my questions and to make sure I understood what he was recommending and why. And, they offered snacks, which made them a hit as far as my son was concerned. Their office is very nice, and I appreciated the office policy on separate billing for divorced parents. We elected to use this orthodontist for my son's care after the free initial consultation.
