Services
In 2003 Mary Rose & Jerry Lynn Brown pursued their life long dream of opening a modern, full-service funeral home. Rose Lynn Funeral Home became the first locally owned and operated funeral home in the Lutcher and Gramercy, Louisiana area of St. James Parish. Mary Rose and Jerry Brown have since been dedicated to families in need, providing traditional services as well as countless personalized options.
Many people have never had to arrange funeral services. Let's face facts - it is not exactly something people talk about. This hesitation may be due to several reasons, and it is safe to say that the public is largely unaware of the options available to them when planning a funeral service. At Rose Lynn Funeral Services, we will do everything we can to make your decisions informed ones.
Decomposition of the body in the earth (after burial) is the slow oxidation of the body tissues. Cremation, on the other hand, provides rapid oxidation. No casket is legally required for cremation, just a simple container, which is strong enough to hold the body. This could be a box of rough boards, pressboard, or heavy cardboard.
This decision may be especially difficult for you, yet deciding between burial and cremation is one of the first choices you must make. Disposition is the term used by the funeral industry to describe the final handling of the deceased's remains. Although your initial decision for the disposition of the body is between burial and cremation, there are several variations on each.
A funeral is so much more than a way to say goodbye; it's an opportunity to celebrate the life of someone special. Today, a funeral can be as unique as the individual who is being honored. From simple touches like displaying personal photographs to events created around a favorite pastime, funerals can reflect any aspect of a person's life and personality.

My name is Monica Broussard and I live in New Iberia, La. One of my coworkers father in-law passed and we needed to order flowers. When I called the Saturday I spoke with Lauren. She notified me all of the shops were closed that day, but she would be placing an order for arrangements for the family! SHE WAS SO VERY HELPFUL. We received a photo of the arrangement! The family was very pleased!!! Thank you, Lauren!!!
