Services
In May of 1984 Dr. Amy Patterson joined Dr. Neil Shipman at the Highlands Animal Clinic. Because the clinic served both small towns of Highlands and Cashiers, NC, they decide to open a satellite office in Cashiers, the Cashiers Animal Clinic, to serve those living in the Cashiers area. During the summer months Dr. Shipman and Dr. Patterson split their time between the two offices.
Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.

The staff here are by far the best! Our family have been coming here for years, and they have provided the best and the most professional care with our dogos in the highlands and cashier area. Recently, we had an unexpected family pet death (unavoidable), and they handled this situation with care and especially compassion. They went out of their way to comfort our family during and after the traumatic event. Please consider this vet to be your go to vet!

Great place. Took our puppy for his first shots and rabies vaccines and they were amazing very professional and knowledgeable about everything. Great staff and are very friendly and the best part is that they are not over priced or even out of most people's budget.we had a mix up twice on when our appointment was and they were patient and totally understanding and it was no problem to reschedule for another time! Seriously an amazing vet's office I highly recommend it.
