Services
Dr. Ann Shower is experienced in treating all types of pets and animals. Animal House Veterinary Clinic specializes in cats and dogs. Your pet's health and well being is very important to us and we will take every step to give your pet the best possible care including providing emergency care for our established clients.
Dr. Shower received her Bachelor of Science (with honors) in Biology from Western Carolina University, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (with Honors) from Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys all species of animals and has worked on both small and large animals. Her practice is currently limited to small animals.
Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, snake bites, and chocolate ingestion. In 2016, Dr. Shower's husband suffered a life threatening illness and currently she is unable to see after hours emergencies herself at this time.
We hope this changes in the future but until then all after hours emergencies are handled by the Regional Emergency Animal Care Hospital (West Asheville)at 828-665-4399, or Haywood Animal Emergency (Waynesville) 828-452-1478.Payments - Payment in full is due at time of service. Deposits are required on all surgical or inpatient cases.

At Animal House Veterinary Clinic, you can expect state of the art medical care for your four-legged companions. We believe in nurturing the human-animal bond and creating a harmonious relationship between people and animals. You can expect to be greeted by a courteous receptionist, clean exam rooms, friendly doctors, and caring technicians.
Thank you for recognizing your pet may need to undergo an elective procedure such as spay or neutering. Many people "shop around" for the best price on this surgery, without the knowledge of why the cost varies among veterinary practices. What is sad is that some places charge a lot, but still cut so many corners.

Dat U Vet Ann?? ~ Lilly🐾
After several failures at other 'places' around the Franklin area, we are, especially Lilly, grateful for Vet Ann🙏💜
Covid offers in car service for some needs, very convenient for her 'pawtients'. Super reasonable pricing, with an excellent.professional and caring team for our furbabies.
Feel confident letting the staff at Animal House care for your furry(or not so furry) family member🐾💜🐾

Recently had to help Trixie, my 16 year old Jackawawa, cross the rainbow bridge. Dr. Ann and her team were wonderful , caring in this moment and in all the care they provided my beloved furbaby to keep her as healthy as possible over the last year. I am most grateful for all the care provided.

I have just moved to this region of the mountains and was looking for a new vet for my pup. I couldn't be more delighted to find Animal house vet. It isn't a large vet office so you know the care is one on one vs being another number. The staff is friendly, caring and informative. Time to see the doc is extremely fast and easy to talk with. Most importantly to me, the doctor is a retired service member. So by choosing this office, you are choosing to support military/veterans which we owe everything too!

I cannot begin to describe how great full I am for the doctors here. I am college student, so naturally I don't have a lot of money or life experiences with medical issues for my pets. The doctor was very sincere and always kept my cats best interest in mind the entire way. She helped me to be able to afford the care my little kitty needed and I will always be forever great full. "Juno", my cat, wasn't eating or drinking. It was really looking like things took a turn for the worst over the weekend and he's only a few months old. The staff made sure I got an appointment when I called first thing

We have taken our pets to Dr. Ann for at least 15 years and trust her and her staff completely. She has compassion and love aplenty. We travel full time in an RV for the last 4 years and still call Dr. Ann for all our vet needs even from the road. She cares, she understands and she empathizes. We recently lost a pet and Dr. Ann helped us through medical care and the subsequent grief. Because she has always taken the time to know us, she knew what we needed to get through the worst of our loss. We love you Doc!
