Hillside Memorial Chapel is celebrating over 42 years of service to Habersham County and the Northeast Georgia area. As a family owned, operated and oriented funeral home, we understand the emotional stress of losing a loved one, not only the strain on the family, but on the many friends as well. Our licensed funeral directors Brent Tolbert and Kasey McEntire as well as our extended professional support staff is always here to help.

Our staff of dedicated professionals is available to assist you 24 hours a day in making funeral or cremation service arrangements. From casket choices to funeral flowers, the funeral directors at Hillside Memorial Chapel provide individualized funeral services designed to meet the needs of each family.
Services
Sam and Martha Tolbert established Hillside Memorial Chapel in 1977 to serve Habersham County and the surrounding area. In 1982, Hillside moved to Washington Street at Laurel Drive, where it remained until 2007. Our state-of-the-art building nestles in the hillside across from St. Mark Catholic Church on Highway 197 South.
The furnishings at Hillside Memorial Chapel provide a homelike atmosphere designed with your comfort in mind. Our intimate, yet spacious staterooms provide a gracious gathering area for visitation, and our peaceful chapel has comfortable seating for more than 325, suitable for services of all faiths.
Sam was a lifelong native of Habersham County. He was the son of the late Boyd and Farris Garrison Tolbert, Sr. He was a United States Army Veteran and a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. Sam and his wife Martha founded Hillside Memorial Chapel in 1977 and alongside his son Brent, founded Hillside Gardens Perpetual Care Cemetery.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
Our role at Hillside Memorial Chapel is to help you make the right choices and decisions in making funeral arrangements. We will prepare the Social Security form. We will assist in determining the number of death certificates you will need and will order them. We will help coordinate arrangements with cemetery or memorial park.

We couldn't have asked for more from a funeral home. Brent and his staff took care of everything. They genuinely cared and showed it every interaction we had through the entire process.
