In 2003, Mystic Pharmaceuticals was founded to address a simple yet important question: "Why do eye drops always overflow out of the eye?" The eye dropper has been the predominant delivery system for ophthalmic drugs for over a century, with ninety-five percent of all ophthalmic drugs currently being delivered by this method.
Our R&D Center and pilot manufacturing facility is located at our headquarters in Cedar Park, Texas, within the Austin metropolitan area. This facility is designed to support both our R&D programs and provide our customers an array of services often needed during the pre-clinical and clinical phases of a product development program.
Innovative drug delivery technology, plays an expanding role in the overall strategy for improving the patient health outcomes. Novel packaging and delivery technology can enable medications that would not otherwise be feasible, reduce drug waste, improve ease of use, and even provide useful information to the patient, such as embedded dose reminders and regimen tracking aids.
Our unit dose packaging consists of a novel blister technology combined with an internal single use nozzle. Our blisters are produced using pharmaceutical grade multi-layered thin film laminate consisting of aluminum encased in a polymer to protect the drug. These high purity biocompatible laminates offer ultra-low extraction profiles and provide an ideal storage environment for your drug product throughout the shelf life.
