The AKAT Corporation was previously known as AK Systems, which was established in 1995. The AKAT Corporation has been primarily supporting the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Aerospace and Engineering Technology Division. AKAT has been providing electrical system design, developments, and testing for both flight and non-flight projects.
In the past, AKAT has been involved in the design and development of many commercial and aerospace avionics hardware. AKAT principal employees each have over twenty years of experience in system, electrical, and software engineering in design & development of various NASA/GSFC Satellite subsystems.

The JWST will offer unprecedented resolution and sensitivity from long-wavelength (orange-red) visible light, through near-infrared to the mid-infrared (0.6 to 27 micrometers), and is a successor instrument to the Hubble Space Telescope and the Spitzer Space Telescope.
