I work with clients to create estate plans tailored to their needs and their families, using Wills, Trusts, Power-of-Attorneys, and other documents. If you've lost a loved one, I can assist you with being appointed through the court process or administering their estate through the small estate process.
I guide your family through the divorce process and beyond, handling custody, child support, parenting time, grandparent visitation and more. My goal is to guide you and your family to develop a plan to address your legal, financial, and healthcare planning concerns as you age. I assist clients with transfers of real estate between family members as well as sale transactions not involving a realtor.

Born and raised in Avon, Indiana, I graduated from Indiana University majoring in Political Science. I earned my Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. I can only do what I do because I have a great staff, and I think you'll agree once you meet Edward Peters and Jeanette Waterman.
I represent clients in family law matters including Adoption, Divorce and Legal Separations, Custody and Parenting Time/Visitation Issues, Relocations, Child Support & Support Termination/Emancipation, Grandparent Visitation, Paternity, Prenuptial Agreements, PostNuptial Agreements, Post-Divorce Modifications and Enforcement, Cohabitation/Domestic Agreements and Disputes, Spousal Maintenance, Guardianships and Third Party Custody.
Every family is different, so every plan is different. During your consultation, we figure out which package works best for your family based on a variety of factors. Complex planning may be required due to subsequent marriages, owning a family business or farm - I'll address any additional fees or costs during your free consultation in writing.
Elder law deals with the issues faced by the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population, the elderly. Seniors today are more active and live longer than ever before, which means they face a variety of new issues not addressed by earlier generations.
Now that seniors are living longer, there are more issues about their care that have to be included in estate planning, such as plans for housing, future medical care, and what to do if the person is in need of care and has become incapable of making their own decisions. My goal is to ensure that you or your loved one receives the best care possible, addressing all legal and financial concerns.

After losing a loved one, the probate process can seem overwhelming. We assist executors, personal representatives, and administrators through each step of the probate process. If you are named as the executor or personal representative by the terms of a will or you would like to become the administrator of the estate of a family member who did not have a will, we can help you to become appointed by the probate court.

Family Law. Divorce. Jamie will look out for you. She is professional yet kind. She will present all options precisely while allowing you to make final decisions. Her recommendations were always in my best interest. My husband didn’t want to seek his own attorney so this made things easier because Jamie is also a mediator, though she clarified to me multiple times that was not her role in my case and that she was MY attorney. She has the ability to see both sides of things and can carefully explain why or why not any proposal is reasonable or unreasonable.

Mrs. Harrell and her team graciously took on my divorce case at what seemed to be the darkest point in my life. They assured me that they would do everything in their power to resolve my case in a fair and just manner making sure that most importantly the children's needs are met. They have high moral standards and take great pride in their work. I would highly recommend this firm.
