Ms. Barnes was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Louisiana State Bar Association. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University in 2010, graduating summa cum laude, and her Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2013.
