In 1955, Dr. Marvin Rothman opened the doors to Rothman Animal Hospital and began his dream of providing the highest level of veterinary care for the community's pets, including birds, reptiles and other exotic animals. As the first veterinary hospital in the area at that time to offer avian and exotic expertise, the practice quickly gained a reputation for high-quality, comprehensive medical care.
In the early years of the practice, Dr. Rothman was a solo practitioner. He built the hospital based on a model of compassion for all creatures, and respectful understanding of owners' needs and concerns. Educating owners on keeping pets well was just as important as helping them care for their sick or injured pets.

Services
Since its inception in the 1950's, Rothman Animal Hospital has provided veterinary care and rehabilitiation services for animals who need it most, thanks to its Stray Fund, which raises money to house and care for injured and sick animals until they are adopted into loving homes.
Working with Compassion for Camden, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and abused animals, Rothman Animal Hospital has helped save countless animals from serious illness and neglect, and has placed them in new homes, giving them a second chance at life.

If there are refills left on your prescription, and the prescription is less than 6 months old, there is usually not a problem refilling it. Otherwise, we usually have to get a doctor's approval. Please allow at least 24 hours to fill the prescription. It is illegal for us to dispense prescription medicine for any pet we have not examined within the last year.

A. As a general rule of thumb, any bird that that appears to be ill to its owner is usually seriously ill. Make an appointment immediately. A. Yes, we recommend it. All cats should minimally be vaccinated with the FVRCP&C. Not vaccinating against other feline diseases is a risky proposition. The only way your cat could be safe is if you could guarantee that your cat will never be exposed to any other cats either intentionally or by accident.

Dealing with a unexpected litter of pups , something I’ve never gone through before, my anxiety has been through the roof! Thanks to the amazing team at Rothman!! I always get a call back when I have a concern, which seems to be almost everyday through this! Dr Scrunci even called to check on things when I left a message that my baby had her pups.… I can’t thank the caring wonderful team at Rothman enough!!! I definitely strongly recommend Rothman Animal Hospital. I had 2 kittens in Fall 1998 that got botched declaw surgery from a different vet and brought them to Rothman because I’d heard only great things. Four cats later and all of them have been treated exclusively by Rothman. The staff are super friendly, patient and so helpful! My guys usually… see Dr. Dixon who is amazingly kind and caring with our furry babies and their parents, but have seen all the docs at some point or another and all are fantastic. I don’t trust anyone but Rothman with my animals. They’re family

I used to take my previous fur baby to Rothman. When I had to put her down Dr Javic and staff we so amazing! It was the most difficult decision I’ve ever made and they were their to provide support. That was… four years ago. My birthday present last year was another fur baby. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with everyone at the hospital and Betty Boop seems to be a big hit with the staff! I can’t thank All of you enough! I think you’re all incredibly amazing!!! ❤️

Rothman is the best of the best! Their passion for animals shows through their work every time I take my pets in. They are always thorough, caring, and understanding. I am the anxious client who always shows up with a list of questions and the Rothman staff are always willing to go through them all with me and address any concerns. They are truly the best at what they do.
