Blade-free LASIK uses a precise laser, in place of metal blades, to create a corneal flap for the laser to then smooth the corneal surface. The Intralase Method* refers to the laser that pulses light through your cornea to form a microscopic bubble layer to gently separate the tissue, forming a smooth and even surface.

Sunday afternoon, January 16, something got in my eye that hadn’t cleared by the next morning, and my eye was redder than it had been on Sunday night. I called Alabama Vision Center as soon as they opened at 7:30am. The receptionist was polite and professional as I explained my situation, told her I was a patient there, then asked to see any of their physicians at the earliest availability.
I was happily surprised when she asked if I could be there just over an hour later that morning. Once I arrived, my wait was less than 5 minutes. After I was prepped by his assistant, Dr. Velazquez quickly

I’ve been going to the AL Vision Center for years & always recommend them when someone is looking for an eye doc. I trusted Dr. Kloess implicitly to do my LASIK surgery which was awesome & then cataract surgery a year ago. Dr Valasquez did my check up this wk & lasered a bit of scar tissue off. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Used Dr. Velasquez based on a recommendation from a coworker for Lasik. No complaints at all, answered all my questions and the procedure went fine. Liked it well enough to recommend it to another coworker. No complaints - I'm afraid of having anything touch my eyes generally but I'm glad I got it done.

The office is run so well. When you have an appointment time that is when you are called back, the staff is amazing and I could not ask for a better ophthalmologist, he has been my doctor for many years. I had to have cataract surgery on both eyes and he performed one eye with near vision and the other with far. I do not have to wear glasses and that has been about 4 years ago. Still no glasses, I would recommend him and have my husband, brother, mother and several other people.

I had an appointment with Dr. Young today January 6, 2022 at 8:20 AM. Arrived prior to 8:20 and lady asked me for my name. After a couple minutes, she questioned what I was doing there? I said I have an appointment. I wasn’t on the schedule according to her. She made me feel like a total idiot! I could see another doctor which was unacceptable to me. Left, went home and returned with my appointment card to prove I wasn’t an idiot. The lady failed to give me an explanation of what happened. She said I could see another doctor as Dr. Young wasn’t there today. Not once did she offer to schedule

Dr. Velazquez and the staff at Alabama Vision Center are so friendly and professional, yet make you feel comfortable enough to feel like you are speaking to a friend. Dr. V is down to earth and easy going, and it really takes the dread out of having to go to the eye doctor. I'd recommend him and Alabama Vision Center to anyone who is looking for an excellent opthamologist.

Suddenly and without warning, I had a problem with what I thought was retina detachment; so, I immediately called Alabama Vision Center, the vision clinic I always go for semi-annual eye checkups. Everyone was so kind; they asked that I come to the office right away, which I did. The office lobby indicated that the clinic was extremely busy that day, and my eye doctor, Dr. Valezquez, was not in, and his partner saw me. He was very kind, very gentle, and after several exams with different equipment, said he thought all would be well. All the dear, kind staff showed clear concern, and I went home
