Higher adult to student ratio. With a teacher and several parents working in the classroom children benefit from greater richness and variety in the program and the chance for more attention and more help for individual children. Grace Cooperative Preschool's child to adult ratio is around 4:1 to 3:1.

Easier transition between home and school. Since parents are such an integral part of the school, they are able to stay with their child until the child becomes comfortable with separation from the parent. Additionally, with parents participating in the classroom they are more likely and able to provide consistency in the environments provided at home and school.

Do the teachers encourage me to leave or will I be able to stay with my child as long as he needs?. Is there a lot of time for my child to run and play, because that is most important to us?. Many Grace preschoolers have younger siblings. Parents have many different ways they arrange care for the younger siblings while they co-op in the classroom with their preschooler.
Grace Cooperative Preschool is a beautiful collaborative of supportive, accommodating, helpful and sharing teachers, parents, families and children. Not only do my grandsons learn, grow and thrive in the nurturing grace of Grace Cooperative Preschool, their entire extended family thrives. Our philosophy is Learning Through Play.
Our school is run by an experienced and dedicated staff and is accredited by the NAEYC. The school is operated by the parents with the assistance of one salaried director and four salaried teachers. Joy currently teaches in both the 3s and 4s program.Meg is a past Grace parent and when her two daughters graduated we just couldn't let her go. Meg has a background in nursing and studied early childhood education.
Where were you in November of 1970? A far-sighted group of Grace Presbyterian Church members was meeting to study the possibility of opening a preschool. The "project team" included public school teachers, mothers of young children, and church school teachers. Members of the team visited 8 different church-related preschools before deciding on the philosophy and type of preschool to be established at Grace.

We love this school! The moment we walked in for our tour, we knew this was the preschool for us. My daughter didn't want to leave. I have 2 kids and we are now in our 3rd year at grace cooperative preschool.
The teachers are amazing, kids look forward to seeing them everyday.
As a co-op, there is a lot of work involved for the parents, but it's pretty special since everything we do is for our kids, and it's all worth it when You get to see how excited they get, and you get to be part of that excitement.
We❤️Grace!

My four boys all went to Grace Cooperative Preschool. They loved their experience. And, even though a co-op school means lots of hard work by the parents and staff, it pays high dividend by way of excellent child development, parent-child bonding and community interaction. My children, my wife, and I have all developed friendships that we expect to last a lifetime.
