At Tachi-S, we help automotive manufacturers launch their cars, trucks and SUVs by designing, developing, testing and manufacturing high-quality automotive seats that are functional, safe, stylish and most importantly comfortable. Each year, Tachi-S delivers over 3 million complete automotive seats and over 4 million seat components to the global automotive market.
Tachi-S grew out of humble beginnings. Our company's roots were planted in 1954, with the founding of the Tachikawa Spring Co. in Tachikawa-shi, Tokyo where it made springs for automotive seats. As the company grew, it evolved into Tachi-S Co., Ltd. and expanded its product line to include automotive seats, frame assemblies, seat mechanisms, foam, soft trim and combining all of these components into complete seat systems.
As a high-quality, global automotive seating supplier, Tachi-S always strives to "take the driver's seat" while developing seating. This means studying current trends while anticipating future demands. It involves looking beyond the physical structure of a seat and gaining an understanding of what the seat means to the vehicle, the driver and the passengers.
Tachi-S utilizes a variety of powerful CAD and CAE software (NX, CATIA, LS-DYNA, PAM-CRASH, Optistruct, Hypermesh) to help reduce product development time, decrease costs and improve the safety, quality and comfort of the automotive seats we design and develop. Our CAE test setup procedures are designed to meet OEM specifications.
From creating functional prototypes, to skiving and shaping foam, to developing patterns for trim covers, our extensive experience and insight during the prototype stage can save you significant time and costs in the development of your seating systems. Tachi-S offers an array of prototyping services to help you realize your vision and evaluate new seat concepts and designs before going into production.
