Lakes & Country was founded in 1985 by Carol Page. She focused on selling local lakefront property, land, and serviced the under served "country" areas. She opened the flagship office in Bloomingdale, MI, which is still in operation today at 110 E Spring Street. We currently have 3 agents that work at this location: Barb Strong - Over 20 years in the business, Pearl Etzwiler - Over 40 years in the business, and our newest agent, Mary Phelps.
Buying and selling land isn't the same as buying or selling a home. There are many nuances that we have the experience to help you anticipate and work through. We have a list of qualified, reputable vendors that can assist with surveys, soil testing, building suitability, and well and septic installations.

We called to inquire about selling our home. We really weren't even serious but with the housing market improving thought we would see where we were. They sent someone right out to give us an estimated selling price. The price they gave was EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE THAT ZILLOW HAD BTW, which seemed too good to be true. We decided to proceed. They next sent Michelle out to get us to sign the sellers agreement. Michelle then informed us that the selling price was too high and we would need to reduce it by $40,000 dollars. She said at that price (the price that we were told initially which was the same
