In 2017, ACCA became AECEA - Arizona Early Childhood Education Association. Though we retain the same mission and goals, this new name better represents the important work that member centers do for Arizona's Children and Families and communicates the importance of ECE in the education continuum. To represent private, licensed child care centers statewide and to promote affordable, quality early care and education that meets the needs of Arizona's families and children. Private child care centers in Arizona have been working together as professionals for almost 30 years.
Child care operators and directors became active in the late 70's and became formally established as the Arizona Association for Child Development and Education in 1980 and later the Arizona Association for Child Care Management.In the early 1990's, private child care providers became increasingly organized and involved.

The Arizona Early Childhood Education Association works with organizations throughout the Early Childhood field to provide opportunities for our members and their staff, improve Quality Early Childhood Education in Arizona, and advocate for our members and the families they serve. AZECA is an alliance of 40 cross-sector partners statewide who are working together to give every Arizona child a great start in life.
AECEA maintains relationships with a variety of vendors that provide goods or services to licensed child care facilities and their staff. These vendors provide quality products and responsive customer service, often at a discount to AECEA members. AECEA's vendors help promote private child care in the community and support the association.
Attendance in high-quality early education is a strong predictor of future academic achievement and lifelong productivity. Strong Start Tucson believes that by increasing the city sales tax by half a cent, we can create a meaningful funding source to allow up to 8,500 Tucson children to attend a high-quality preschool program.
The Arizona Early Childhood Education Association (AECEA) is a non-profit organization that represents licensed child care providers statewide.
