From Classic Antipasto to Homemade Cheese with Pesto, the tradition of the Antipasti (Italian Appetizers) sets the stage from your Main Course to Dessert. Homemade fresh mozzarella, layered with fresh tomatoes and fresh basil drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. Grilled bread rubbed with garlic and drizzled with olive oil, with three Mediterranean spreads.
Not your everyday salad, Nicola's serves up classics with a twist; greens topped with fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses, along with homemade dressings. For the perfect lighter meal, pair with a Wood-fired Pizza or Panini. Romaine lettuce topped with apples, red onions, gorgonzola cheese, walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette.
Nicola's Homemade Pastas are dished up in portions sized perfectly for any appetite ~ choose Piccola or Grande. Once you've chosen the perfect pasta course, decide if an order of Bruschetta or lighter Salad would be the best start to your meal. Bacon, red onion and garlic sauteed in olive oil and spicy marinara, finished with ricotta cheese and tossed with spaghetti.
Calamari and shrimp sauted with prosciutto, red onion and tomatoes in a spicy marinara sauce. Veal scaloppine sauteed with spinach, roasted red peppers and mushrooms with marinara sauce and tossed with linguini. A fresh piece of full-bodied white cod combined with tomatoes, onions, garlic and potato, fire-roasted in our wood-burning oven.

We ordered take out last week and i was very impressed with the quality of the (freshly made) pasta and pizza.The woman who took our order (the wife of the chef) was extremely friendly and accommodating, and I found the food to be traditionally prepared, which I prefer (Italian-Italian - not American-Italian cuisine). The flavor combinations were absolutely perfect. My children loved it as well.

All of our pasta was luke warm...in temperature and flavour. We got the spaghetti with meatballs, broccoli rabe and chicken penne, salmon special, and the sausage con verde pasta. The salt and pepper shakers were used by everyone at the table because flavour was really lacking. There was also no fresh ground pepper or parmesan. Service was also slow; we only got bread when we asked for it and then it was then served with dinner but they took our bread plates away! It's okay though, we didn't eat the bread because it was stale. Overall, very disappointed and underwhelming.

We ate here twice for dinners during the Ironman with young families and nervous athletes. Nicola's accomodated our big party at an open, spacious table and let us socialize for hours. We never felt pressured to leave.
Food arrived quickly (hangry!) and the salads were crisp and fresh. Beautiful, big, wood-fired pizzas; flavourful and straightforward pastas, kid-friendly menu if you ask.

First, I want to start with the fact that I'm from Philly, so I'm a pizza and Italian food snob.
We ordered a bruschetta daily special with house made cheese, the 3 cheese pizza, and a balsamic salmon daily special. This was the best cheese pizza I have ever had, and I thought upstate New York didn't have any good pizza. The salmon was delicious, and that bruschetta.. It was incredible. The way they presented the food on the plate, you could tell that they really care about what they do. And the flavor was phenomenal.

WOW! What a great dining experience. You could tell there were lots of regular customers mixed in with weekenders. The veal was better than NYC and the vongole was like you were on Cape Cod. It couldn't have started a romantic weekend any better. I think we will go back to Lake Placid just to dine at Nicola's. I was happy with the check too.

My husband and I had dinner at Nicola's on Saturday 3/14 and I thought the food was wonderful! My husband had veal marsala and I had the veal picatta . We both felt that each dish was the best we have had in any other restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Lake Placid. The service was wonderful and warm. If I get back to Lake Placid, this will be one of our eating stops for sure!

The bartender was great and very helpful with recommendations. Its a cool concept,the restaurants are combined, one side Bangkok Thai, and the other Nicola's on Main (Italian). I was really craving Thai and my husband wanted the Philly cheesesteak, so we were able to sit at the bar and order from both menus. I had the yellow curry which I think just by preference I'm not a fan and I will stick to the green from now on, but it was good.

My wife and I had dinner here on 11/4/15. We sat at the bar, because that is what we always do :)
We each had a drink a salad, and we shared a pizza. The quality of the food was very good, the portions were just right, and the price was in line with other restaurants of similar style and quality. The service was very professional and friendly. We had a very nice dining experience here. We would go back, and I think everyone that would dine here would also have a pleasant experience.
