As a former healthcare administrator, I launched Chosen Family Home Care with the goal of having a more focused, direct impact on the delivery of care than I could ever accomplish within my previous leadership roles. For me, the joy of running an organization like Chosen Family Home Care is having the ability to positively improve the lives of individuals needing customized senior home care.
In America, there are estimated to be over 3 million LGBT adults (those that are gay, bisexual, lesbian, or transgender) over the age of 50, with projections that this will increase to over 7 million adults by 2030. LGBT elders confront unique challenges as they get older. Chosen Family recognizes the challenges facing the LGBT community and exists to overcome the issues and shortcomings in care provided to the senior and disabled LGBT community.
At its core, cultural competency and a commitment to diversity is what sets Chosen Family Home Care apart. Through training, education, and compassion, Chosen Family Home Care emphasizes cultural competency for our diverse senior home care clients. This is built right into our company mission. On one hand, this is true for our LGBT patients, whom are the core clients at Chosen Family Home Care.
LGBT older adults are at increased risk of discriminatory acts that range from hiring and salary discrimination to neglectful health care providers. Fear of discrimination and abuse make LGBT seniors five times less likely than non-LGBT seniors to access crucial social services. This includes health care, home care, senior centers, housing assistance, meal programs, food stamps and other public benefits.
The LGBT population has made great strides when it comes to securing equal rights. However, health disparities are pervasive across the LGBT community. LGBT elders experience health disparities across four general areas: access to health care and health insurance, societal biases that impact well-being, mental health, and chronic physical conditions.

I cannot recommend this agency enough! Super responsive and Brett makes us feel like we (the client) really matter. You can tell he really cares about his clients as well as the caregivers. He makes sure to hire quality caregivers and will work with you to get the right fit for your loved one(s). I don't know where we would be without Chosen!

Tim D. helped me today regarding questions i had concerning the Caregiver waiver program. He was very thorough in his explanation and even emailed me additional information. I am recently employed by Chosen Family Home Care from another agency and I am glad I made the move. My contact Brett has made the transition painless and as trouble free as a transition could be. Any issues or problems I had were taken care of immediately. A nice plus was the sign on bonus of a $350 gift card you can use anywhere, and I'm a big fan of getting paid weekly. This was the right choice.

Out of the four years in the home health care this for me is best company yet. They offer above fair pay great communication, I have no complaints. The only home health care company that offer real opportunity for growth, and I'm excited as them being a new company how they'll progress for the years to come!!!!

We love Chosen Family Home care, they submit the insurance claims for my mother...anyone who has had to deal with a long term care insurance company will understand how amazing this is.They deal with stressed families who have things pop up out of nowhere with friendly professionalism. The owner, Brett, has a remarkable ability to place the perfect caregiver with his clients. We love the primary caregiver we have for our mom as well as the additional care giver that fills in when we are out of town. Both ladies are kind and patient with our mother. Our Mother has dementia... it's a huge relief

We hired Chosen Family to care for my grandmother when she could no longer navigate the stairs in her home. She needed assistance doing laundry, cleaning house and with errands. She found her caregivers to be trustworthy, kind and hard workers. Our family had peace of mind knowing we could rely on Chosen Family caregivers to be there 'just in case.' My grandma is very social, so having the caregivers there made her more lively, too!
