Little Stompers Preschool is a small, certified family childcare preschool located in the Harlow neighborhood of Eugene, OR for children ages 3-5 years old. We are a play-based, child directed program that connects children and nature. We believe the right environment gives children the opportunity to become engaged learners and create, explore and get messy.

At Little Stompers Preschool our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that allows children to create a childhood they will never forget. Little Stompers Preschool is a play-based program that focuses on emergent curriculum. Kids learn through play where natural inquiry arises. We believe that curiosity and discovery are important for children's learning, so we let the children's inquiry drive our direction in the classroom.
Little Stompers has a beautiful natural play space that provides endless opportunities for children to discover the wonders of nature. Children are naturally curious and our daily outdoor adventures allow for observations, exploration, and experimentation in a space that includes a garden area with an array of fruit trees, large sandbox, building/ construction materials, quiet areas for reflection as well as space to run, jump and ride bikes!
Play and learning go hand-in-hand. Children learn through their play and play to learn. We provide an environment set up with hands-on, concrete, open-ended materials, that actively engage children's curiosity and encourages exploration, discovery, experimentation, imagination and problem solving. When children play with these materials they compare and sort things, practice cause and effect and learn to problem solve.
You are your child's most important teacher and will be a welcome and extremely valuable part of our program. Children do best when the adults in their lives work well together. We believe that happens when we have a collaborative partnership with you. Your opinions and insights are important and valued.
Little Stompers Preschool is a nationally recognized Eco- Healthy Child Care! That means we take thoughtful steps to reduce or eliminate health hazards inside and outside of our school. We follow best health practices which include: least toxic cleaning products, no use of pesticides, recycling of all our paper and plastic products, using non-toxic art supplies and use only wood or PVC- free toys.
