Services
We have a loyal parent group, many of whom attended the school as children and who have fond memories of their time here. In our Montessori preschool classrooms, every piece of equipment takes advantage of a child's inherent desire to learn; to cater to the child's sensitive period, as Maria Montessori described certain periods of intense interest in certain aspects of development.
Eugene Montessori School's program is for children 3 through 6 years old and runs 5-days a week from 8:30 AM until 3:30 PM. Half-day sessions are available. Each day in our Montessori preschool classrooms, children practice activities in practical life and sensorial skills, in language, math, science, geography, cultures of the world, history, art and writing.
Dr. Maria Montessori became a world famous educator-scientist through years of research, observations, and discoveries in regard to childhood development. She realized the profound effect that early learning experiences have on the child's ability in reaching their natural potential. She discovered that the child needs an extensive and intensive scope of "purposeful" work and play.
